This is a sincere attempt to sound out the wide variety of reasons that lead handsome men to do this. It was suggested in a thread on the Deli, but I personally feel that the Deli has been seeing too many philosophical discussions that really belong over here.

A related question might be what happened that caused you to take your first paying trick?

I know that I don't really count since I'm retired, but I might answer the first question later if this thread gets going. The thing that really occaisioned my first time was when I was putting the make on the wrong man at a party and his lover got me alone in the kitchen and called me a "free whore." It really hurt. When I got home that night I asked myself why it had hurt so much, and (like a typical Capricorn, I suppose) I realized that it was the free part and not the whore part that hurt. That was in roughly 1973, before all this became quite as popular and stylish as it is today.

for starting this thread, which I suggested on the other thread. I am amazed at the variety of reasons people hire escorts. I suspect that there is an equally wide range of reasons people become escorts. In any case, I am very interested in learning why escorts first started turning tricks. I hope you will post your story too.

What an interesting thread this can be!Thank you Bilbo for posing it. This is a question I always ask an escort I'm with...because I'm truly fascinated in the reasons. I look at these young men..such superb specimens of manhood (in most cases)...and listen to them...intelligent,personable,rather sweet (in most cases) and that is the first question that somes to mind. The reasons are not always predictable, and I will watch this thread develop with great interest.

Perhaps some escorts will find this questin condecending. If you are tempted to do so, please remember that it is a continuation a a thread where the clients discussed why they hire escorts. And please be reassured that I feel that it is a profession with a long, proud (not that, you silly) tradition which deserves more honor and legality than it has. In fact, I have a young nephew that if circumstances were other than they are (He lives 2 states away from me for one thing) I would love to educate in the non-sexual parts of the enterprise.
