First Brits weren't as white bread as we thought.

 

Obviously some of yinz don't believe in science.

 

Face of the first Briton is revealed: DNA analysis shows 10,000-year-old man had 'dark to black' skin with BLUE eyes and curly hair - and is related to one in 10 of today's Brits.

She referred to people having 'a touch of the tar brush'. Not just her, it was not an uncommon expression.

 

I have a few Aussie friends, they're in their 30's. I'll see if they know the expression.
