NOPE! Many studies say that that antibacterial shit is well shit. It can cause bacteria to become resistant which can cause a whole slew of other issues.

Hugs,

Greg

The active ingredient in purell is ethyl alcohol. Bacteria have not developed a resistance to alcohol for the last 4000 years, and they are not going to start now.

To develop a resistance to Ethyl alcohol, they would have to become something completely different to what bacteria are. That is not how evolution works.

Purell is not an antibiotic.

Anyway, the flu is a virus, not a bacteria, so you do need alcohol if you want to kill it, an antibacterial soap wouldn't do anything.

Water temperature for hand washing is unimportant, so long as you wash your hands correctly.

True. cold water also opens your pores, for deeper cleaning. Years ago. I was told to continue lathering up your hands for the duration of “Take Me Out To The Ballgame”, which I still do, especially after working out at the gym.

So far this year, no cold or flu. I get the flu shot at my annual physical in the beginning of November. I’ll be flying at the end of the month and I’m hoping the flu will have run its course by then. If not, I may wear a mask lol!

That song goes on for about 20-25 seconds, which is exactly how long you should be scrubbing your hands! What a brilliant idea. I learned something new today. Thank you!

1. Eat healthy. Fresh (frozen is fine) fruits and veggies.

2. If you sneeze or cough do it into your arm. If I see one more person cough or sneeze in to their hand imma punch them in the throat.

3. Wash your hands with hot to warm water with soap for 25 seconds and use the paper towels to shut off the water and to open the bathroom door.

4. Try avoiding touching your mouth, nose, eyes and face.

Hugs,

Greg

And Soap Can be a Lotta Fun as well as Healthy!

The flu shot does not have to be 100% effective to have a significant effect in reducing both transmission rates and severity. Get the fucking shot.

A couple of the big Nevada health insurance companies offer free flu shots to all members. I guess they figure the cost of the flu shots is far less than the likely costs of flu cases down the road.
