Thanks for the post. I saw Funny Gay Males at the Club Cafe in Boston. It was probably in the late 1980's and we thought it was revolutionary! I wasn't aware of his health struggle.

Very sad. I remember being so impressed with his matter-of-fact approach to his orientation in his comedy. It was groundbreaking but he made it no big deal. RIP one of my heroes.

I am sad to hear of his passing. I was a big fan of his work in my

early 20’s. I never knew he had medical problems.

 

He was not a stereotypical “funny gay man”.

 

He was a man, who was funny, who was gay.

 

It almost hard to believe now...but in the late 80’s and early 90’s.....that was revolutionary.
