I may be traveling there and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a top who kisses? I know DanTex and will absolutely be contating him, but I thought I’d check with the group to see if there were any hidden gems there. The pickings look slim on RM.

Today RM list 18 providers in SA which is higher than normal. Some visitors no doubt. However a number of those listed are actually based in Austin about 50 Miles to the north of SA. And RM in Austin, a city 2/3rds the size of SA, lists 42. Go figure. This is a real pain for those of us who live on the border some 300 miles south of Austin. But hey. We Texans drive hundreds of miles for lunch or a golf game.

But hey: we Texans are known to drive two or more hours for just lunch or a golf game.

Yum!! But check the Instagram like on his Backpage profile. Looks like a happy father.

It didn't actually look like the same guy in the Instagram link as is in the ad.....Backpage Instagram / Twitter / Facebook links often have no connection to the ad that they are in - I have no idea what that's all about....I have no idea if this "glitch" has any meaning to it being a legit ad or not....but again, these messed-up links appear to be common on Backpage

He’s certainly good looking. Thanks.

Austin is more liberal and tolerant than San Antonio??

Yes. San Antonio really has very few redeeming qualities. It's the second largest city in Texas, but that's due to a huge military population and a solid industrial base. Gay life there is pretty pitiful.

I'm sure they exist, but I have yet to meet an escort in Austin who is actually from Austin. They move here because it's a nice place to live. And I have yet to meet someone from another location who said, "I think San Antonio would be a really cool place to live."

Woah, woah, woah there... San Antonio is an incredibly livable city, routinely making Top 10 lists for friendliness, food, cost-of-living and healthy job market. If you're talking strictly from a GLBT standpoint, yes, I'd agree that San Antonio is living in the stone age.

As for Austin, the Texas locals left a long time ago and California took over in many, many ways. I tend to think fondly about what Austin was versus what it is now: A city built for 300k that's bursting at the seams. It's not that it's not a fun place, but for those of us who were there when it was actually weird, it's a whole different animal now.

Sorry to sidetrack... SA still holds a special place. That city was good to me in many ways :)

Lol. If you say so but I do note that you ain't living there. :)

The Austin vibe isn't and (as you note) hasn't been about the "weird" element for a long time. It's about the river, and the lakes, and Zilker Park. ACL & SXSW. It's about a police force and fire department that has a large number of openly gay personnel. At the pride parade 2 years ago the mayor walked the entire route shaking people's hands; the police department band marched and laughed at the woofs; the fire department had a truck that was driven by a woman and the female passenger had a huge sign identifying the woman as her wife AND had Go-Go boys on the top.

There is a reason it is bursting at the seams. I'm just sayin... ;)

But I did live there for 10+ years. I know that city like the back of my hand.

Dallas was a choice: A choice made by more than one person. Don't assume you know the shot until you know me ;)

None of this is to say I don't like Austin. It's a lovely town... That's turned into a very busy city. I always enjoy my visits.

I have never lived in San Antonio. I was in Corpus Christi for four years, and I used to wish I could live in San Antonio.
