I remember hearing a similar story on a radio show (I think).

 

A young man moves into his first apartment, having gotten through the adoption waiting list his whole life to age 18, never being adopted. He lives alone, he meets gay couple who are neighbors.

 

They become friends and eventually the couple adopts him. So nice.

 

(The only part that made me laugh was when one of the couple described how they spent time with the young man, pre-adoption: They would meet every Friday night in the couple's apartment, always ordering a pizza and having "sodas".

 

Hmmm. Yeah. I'm a teetotaler and so I know how rare it is for any man, much less one who is around other men, to have a soda instead of a beer, if given half a chance! )
