Why would you block a potential client?

I don't hire very often. I treat myself 2-3 times a year. As such, and because I am very shy, I will peruse the ads for a week or two before I decide who to hire. (It's usually when I'm traveling.)

So after a week of glancing through ads I finally decide who I think I want to contact; and he's blocked me on RM. Most times I go through ads not logged in, but when I'm close to deciding I'm looking through them logged in... because sometimes they'll reach out to me and it's easier on my shyness. So I had his ad pulled up, thought maybe I would reach out, logged in... and blocked. Ad will not display if I am logged in. I had never contacted him before. He doesn't know me. I had probably pulled up his ad 5-6 times over the past 2 weeks. (logged in, so he saw me) I don't get it.

I know. Move on. yada yada yada I will. But I just don't understand.

He probably thinks you're just jerking off to his pics, or feels stalked?????? Who knows. Don't take it personal & move on... or send him a text & schedule an appointment with him if you really find him hot.

Also, why don't you change your settings to appear invisible when browsing through ads????? It's easy, just go to your dashboard, scroll down to "profile visibility", set it to invisible, & done. They'll never know you're visiting their ad. GL!

He explains he wants to leave a trace hoping the escorts will make the first move. He does not log in when he wants to remain invisible.

Maybe he's just an idiot.

Perhaps he prefers more assertive clients. Perhaps he's looking to local versus traveling gigs. Perhaps he simply doesn't like the cut of the OP's jib.

Perhaps we do not have all the information because we are learning only one side of the story, which opens a whole new array of possibilities.

Perhaps this is all an illusion being conjured upon the opium filled dreams of an all powerful yet capricious god who is, at the core if it, opposed to linear thought and the Cyrillic alphabet.

Or maybe we're just not owed an explanation.

LOL. It is always more comforting to go quickly to the first and easiest answers. It happens often.

As in most, if not all, questions about why person "A" does something, the only one who knows for sure is person "A." The rest of us can only speculate.

Good advice to yourself..... You may never know why. Don't waste your time ruminating about something that, in all likelihood, does not reflect on who you are, or that you cannot control.

.... wonderfully simple advice to give to others.... please don't ask if I'm capable of heeding it myself.

Thanks.

My profile is fairly blank.

I know there's no real answer that anybody except the guy himself can provide. I guess I just posted in a moment of frustration. A couple of presumed answers were better than no answer at all.

If nothing else, Kevin Slater's answer gave me a chuckle.

Does the escort's action make you more or less likely to hire him? I've never hired from RM. What is the benefit to logging in vs not logging in (other than the reason you gave in your original post)?

Perhaps he has blocked a spectrum of “types” and your profile has fallen within that range. Have you tried contacting him in another fashion?

you are probably correct, YoungAD, but why would someone want to after all that went down? (just to satisfy a curious urge, perhaps?)

my RM profile is generous with information -- text and otherwise -- about me... i have been blocked by some guys because i went back to book them the day after i looked at their profile.

i feel the better that i did not hire someone so sketchy as to do such a thing!

Even if an escort isn’t interested in a particular client’s business, the escort has no idea how influential that client might be to other potential clients or to the escort’s business. I fail to see how pissing off someone, potential client or not, is a smart business practice.

You fail to consider all the situations in which this could have happen. You are assuming intentionality. You are assuming the renter has a business model you approve or share or understand. We do not have enough information to answer the question.

Why am I still checking this thread? Bye.

Are you sure you're not Sarah Huckabee Sanders? Diversion without specifics.

Agreed! Before I knew about the blocking feature on rentmen, I had a few block me. When I first started hiring I could not decide. I assume my viewing their profile to much pissed them off somehow.
