Another great song stylist has passed

It was a sad day for me-and millions of fans of the well turned musical phrase.

Miss Shirley Horn passed away yesterday.She was an incredible musician and incredibly unique.

I had the pleasure of seeing her perform live a few times,and fell in love with her wonderful phrasing and command of the song.She held the audience enraptured-totally quiet and attentive.Remarkable woman she will be greatly missed.

I worked with her a few times. Not a hint of ego in that one, she just wanted to sing. And sing she did.
