Can any of you help me.I have booked a Holiday for next September (I know It is early to book for next year but I was given a good discount for booking early) which includes New Orleans for a 3 night visit.

After what has happend in the City the Tour Operator has written to me and the New Orleans stay has been altered to Natchez which is some way away from New Orleans.

Can any one tell me if there is any Gay Life in Natchez?or Escorts.?Living in England I have never even heard of this city.

I can obtain a refund on the trip if I wish to cancel before October 15th but am prepared to go there for 3 nights if there is some gay life.

Any help comments would be appreciated.

Thank you

Mac

Hello Mac,

I think I can answer this one.

Natchez is one of those Old South riverboat towns on the Mississippi River...across the river is the even smaller Ferriday, LA(of Shirley Q Liquor Fame)

It's pretty safe to say that there wouldn't be any gay bars or escorts in Natchez. The closest place would be the Jackson about 115 miles to the north.

If you are traveling for the historical value, you have the right place. But Natchez would be one of those places where "they shoot gays."(my partner's words)

All My Best,

John

The tour oporater needs to refund your money NOW.There is no way that Natchetz is at all a fair trade for New Orleans.NoLa will be up and running in a few months and your travel agent has fucked up big time.

Hopefully you put this on a credit card so you have a back up if the travel agent refuses at first to give you a rebate.

Outside of big conventions,Jazz Fest, and Mardi Gras hotel rooms are plentiful in New Orleans and deals can always be found.

Act quickly on this as there is a time window in which your CC will act on your behalf.

There is absolutely NO WAY that New Orleans isn't going to be up and running by the time you make your trip. The French Quarter, the area you will be most interested in, was left largely undamaged. Cancel your current trip and do your own booking. Try the Place D'Armes Hotel. Great location right at the corner of St. Ann St and Chartres (http://www.placedarms.com). Good luck and have fun.
