I am amazed that you have the nerve to lecture other posters on the TOS here, considering the fact that YOU were banned from this message board just a few months ago for violating the very same TOS.

The Sky is falling, The Sky is falling

Various dubious characters have been proclaiming the demise of the M4M web site for the last several months. One impeachable source recently said: Nobody can deny that participation and interest here has been rapidly plummeting for some time, with no end in sight.

Since all these characters are such fervent supporters of another message center, EscortSpeaks, lets see how the two measure up. A quick cruise over that way brings up the following stats.

[blockquote]

Founded: May 22, 2005

Daily Posts: 41 Total Posts: 6070

Daily Visits: 2681 Total Visits: 472017

146 Registered Members

[/blockquote]

Each of the M4M messages has a "Member since xxx" line, so lets find some members that registered around the same time period: Lets see, ript4hire - #104868 registered on Mar 23rd and tuesclayo - #105323 registered on Sep 13th. So in roughly the same period of time, it would appear that M4M gained 505 users compared to 146 users over at EscortSpeaks. So much for the Lack of Interest!

Now lets look what people that are doing. M4Ms "Check whos online" tell us that in the last month M4M has had 513 users and 9,529 guests. Multiply by four and we can roughly guess that M4M had about 2,052 users and 38,119 guests.

The only problem is thats just guessing and it really doesnt tell us anything about the posting patterns. What to do? I know, we'll go to the source. I wrote Daddy and asked what the posting stats are and the next day got the following back:

[blockquote]Hi, I don't have time to boil the data down, but your welcome to compile it yourself. The attached CSV file contains the daily summaries for that period. Regards, Daddy[/blockquote]

Attached was a file that I was able to import into Excel and come up with the following figures. For the same time period, M4M had about 117,200 unique computers, and 18,432 posts. At the start of the period, M4M was averaging about 145 posts/day. At the end of the period M4M was averging about 132 posts/day. While I would love to report on the "Number of visits", the data didn't have enought detail. But with 117,200 unique computers I think we can safely say: So much for the Lack of Participation!

Nash your teeth all you want to, but the facts certainly add up to something quite different from what a handful of malcontents are attempting to foist off on the M4M users. M4M lost about 150 users (or did they?), gained about 500 users, all at a cost of about 13 posts a day. I for one don't miss those 13 posts a day considering where they came from and the demeanor that they gave the M4M message center.

"Malcontents" is a word normally used by those who preach conformity above all and denigrate those who don't wish to conform. It's not a very appropriate word for a gay man living in America to use.

> I for one don't miss

But obviously there are others who do miss them, since that is why this thread was started.

I for one don't pay attention to any claims made by the management of this site, since it is the management's credibility problem that has led to the departure of a several people who used to post here regularly.

Nor do I care how many posters come to this site and how many posters come to the other. There are not more than a dozen posters here who have anything even remotely interesting to say, and if all of the others disappeared from this board forever it wouldn't change my reading habits a bit. Likewise, it hardly matters to me that there are only a handful of regular posters at the other site, since almost all of them are posters I want to read; given the number of posters in this thread who indicate that they also read the regulars on Escortspeak, I'm obviously not the only one who feels that way.

But the word means: "Dissatisfied with existing conditions"

Most of us would be considered "Malcontents" when it comes to the issue of Gay marriage, and we definitely are in the minority in that area. So your assertion that it is an inappropriate word for a Gay Man in America seems to be fairly hollow.

But thank-you for playing.

>But obviously there are others who do miss them, since that is

Yes, and when you look through the list of players, it's the same old people beating on the same old drum to the same old ragged beat.

So if they make the claim, you'll continue to ignore them. Works for me, Doesn't matter to me if your going to hide in your shell.

Oh, so your saying that there are a dozen people here that you enjoy reading and a handful of people over there that you enjoy reading.

I glad that you cleared that up for me. You definitely have your cake and get to eat it too. I'm starting to like you more and more.

RE: Fire and Rain

My daddy can whip your daddy, anyday!!

There, I said it! Now, who the hell is Blue Flame? A great name for a flame war, but seriously, why would someone with only three posts want to go to the trouble of digesting all of those statistics and care so much that this site shows better than the other? And now he likes woodlawn! We have seen this before, and we know how it will end!

Enjoy, guys. I think Doug is right on this one...these battles are popular.

Blue Flame, don't get burnt! We'd like you to stay around!

Why Lucky, you silver tongued fox! You can be my Daddy anytime you want. After all, you did manage to get me to post more in one day than I've done in an entire year.

But to answer your question, I was that very drunk queen in the Jacuzzi over in the corner. I didn't mind it when they started peeing in the water, but when I started seeing suspicious looking lumps floating around, I knew it was time.

Let's just say it got my panties in a wad when I found out that those lumps weren't snickers bars.

GET REAL! All this from the man who put the wire hanger in the closet???? The very dude, who RAILS against gay pride day parades and the sterotyped "drag queens", "leather queens" and "bare breasted lesbians" as portraying the "worst" of gay life and as such, a detriment to gays everywhere?

Nah! no one misses the banned troglodytes! How disingenuous of you to try to state that this is "why" this thread was started! You might, just MIGHT have a point on why it continues to flourish, however!

YAWN!!! I'd donate $1000 if only management could come up with just ONE policy that would lead to your departure!

Cool DUDE!, that makes at least a dozen that have something more interesting to say than your very own tired, trite, repetitive observations. Now, ask yourself how many DOZENS of people would keep reading if you, your very self, disappeared for all time! WTF, God has never been that benevolent!

Of course! MOST of them AGREE with your spiteful, ugly posts at the other site!, as you are all wrongly "abused sisters"! over there! Keep on talking to all 4 of your "sisters" over there, but OBVIOUSLY you all bore the living shit out of each other, considering that those who can do so, continue to post here, and those who can not do so, continuously have NOTHING to opine about over there than the very posters on this site and their postings that they cut and paste over there!

As everyone here knows, you are one of the most frequent posters on Escortspeak, and your posts consist of absolutely nothing but hateful remarks directed at the other people who post there. Could your hypocrisy and dishonesty be any more obvious? Surely not.

I didn't refer to the word's dictionary definition, but to the manner in which it is commonly used. Perhaps your remedial English teacher could explain the difference to you, if you ask nicely.

>Yes, and when you look through the list of players, it's the

I don't recognize the poster who started this thread as one of the "same old people." Just keep working on those reading skills and you'll catch up someday.

That's the only response that makes sense when one is dealing with people who have a reputation for dishonesty.

>Oh, so your saying that there are a dozen people here that you

More or less. The difference between this board and that one is that here the vast majority of threads are of absolutely no interest to me, while there the vast majority are of interest.

> I'm starting to like you

I'm afraid the feeling isn't mutual. But I'm sure I can think of something nice to say about you if I put my mind to it. How about this: if we were to tear your skin off and tan it properly, it would probably make an excellent pair of shoes. :)

Why Thank-you! He said: "A dictionary defines the correct usage of the word, not necessarily the common usage." We'll let you be common, I'll choose to be correct.

>I don't recognize the poster who started this thread as one of

Did you misplace your glasses? I recognized him and I even took the time to research the first question and answered it. So what have you been doing? But perhaps your responses answers one of his other questions. You know the one talking about "Less Interesting"?

>That's the only response that makes sense when one is dealing

How about: "Don't shop there"

>More or less. The difference between this board and that one

Then why are you over here? Cool, I'm starting to smell a conspiracy!

Let me guess! Your bored, and you wanted to add excitement to our mundane existence. OK, Whatever floats your boat, but couldn't you do it in less boring way?

>I'm afraid the feeling isn't mutual. But I'm sure I can think

What a marvelous idea! I think I'll write a song about it. How about "Don't step on my Blue Flame Shoes"

It's a shame the feeling isn't mutual, I'm starting to like your style more and more.

It's so easy! When you can't think of anything else, simply throw out a strawman argument or threaten them with violence. Takes the focus completely off the logical or factual arguments, and degenerates it into a name calling cesspool.

But wait a minute, that so aptly describes the other message center. I could of sworn that we moved away from that type of adolescent behavior here. Oh! I get it, you want both message centers to be that type of environment.

Thank-you for playing.

Just look at posts such as "Please help me. Am I delusional?" to realize why no one of interest is posting anymore. I'm just here out of boredom tonight and read "Please help me. Am I delusional?" and couldn't believe the stupidity--if that's what posts are about now, I'll do something more productive next time I'm bored and feel the urge to read here. But hopefully this answers your question.

CLUE! I'm not QUOTING and never said I was (although I'm sure you feel your musings are "pearls of wisdom" that should be written down and taught to all succeeding generations ala Confucius), just reiterating the "attitude and opinings" you have stated in other threads on this very site. Sorry, but I really don't have time to search the archives and quote your very words, as I find your musings WAAAY too boring to go to all that effort.

So YOU say, but since you were not involved in ANY of the correspondence between myself and the people who own/administer this site, you are ONCE AGAIN, just speculating and trying to INSIST that your speculations are facts, and not just your ill-informed speculations!

>But no matter how trite they are, you keep reading and

You of ALL people are accusing someone of responding like a dog to Pavlov's bell? Now THAT is funny as hell!! Anyone want to take odds as to whether woodlawn responds to this posting?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Why shouldn't I post over there?, as the s the handful of "wronged queens" regulars who post there AMUSE me to no end!, especially since it seems SO MANY of the postings are nasty comments about me that advocate my death from the most nastiest of scenarios, including more than one by you, yourself, most HYPOCRITICAL one! Hey, if it wasn't for me, and a couple of others, to stir you girls' indignations, just who would you people amuse yourself with? Surely not yourselves, as you OBVIOUSLY bore the living shit out of each other, as evidenced by the content of the posting on that site!

BTW: Do you think that maybe, just MAYBE, it is time to give up your free, repeat FREE advertising of that other site, on this site?

Now RAIL on in reply and CONTINUE to amaze us all with your ASTOUNDING grasp of logic! :7

No, I'm not speculating. Since you were banned at the time, you may not be aware of the fact that Daddy created a post explaining the reason for your banishment. According to him, you were becoming "too shrill." Unless you are saying he's lying?

Old Town Pizza just around the corner form Darcelle's in Old Town Portland. Wonderful Pizza (or at least the it was the last time I was there) servered by some of the cutest waiters; if your there at the proper time.

Then on to the Oldest (and Best) Drag show on the West Coast, followed up by the Male strippers at Midnight. Now that's a fun night. So Yes, a great way to feel good after a pizza!

Come to think about it, I haven't done Portland in a while, Maybe we can load the portable Jacuzzi into the van and wander down that way. After all, it would appear that we're starting to get some of those odd lumps out of the water

Oh how fun! You used a new word even if some purists would say in a questionable manner.

You've managed to raise this thread to new levels of entertainment, all the while supporting my original argument that level of interest and participation is still high. Bravo! Well Done!

Thank-you for playing.

From my standpoint the decreased activity began as the approach to reviews changed. Previously reviews were done 7 days a week. Now reviews are done Monday through Friday, and in some cases like this week, reviews are only done four times a week. The new reviews draw posters to the site.
