A few months back I had posted a question on what would be better a laptop or something along the lines of the Treo 650. After much debate I got a Treo 650. There were a few reasons why I went with the Treo 650. They being one, it is small and easy to carry, two I don't have to constantly try to find wifi, and three I can look at this site and a few others without prying eyes. There are a couple draw backs though but they are very very minor. I need to buy a memory card that I can install flash on so I can go to a couple websites that require it and sometimes the connection is a bit slow. But my understanding is that my cell carrier is going to be coming out with faster wireless and a new product similar to the Treo 650. But the pluses far out weight the minuses by a long shot. I think I might still look at a laptop but for now I am very happy with the Treo 650. For those that like to travel on the light this is a great travel companion. For those in the market I highly encourage you to take one for a test drive. Some carriers will allow you 15 or 30 days to try it out and if you don't like it you can return it.

Interesting review. I would think it would be difficult to navigate a site like this on such a device.

 

Who is your cellular provider? Also, is the email simple to use on the Treo 650?

Actually I haven't had any problems navigating through this site or my email. You have two options when surfing as far as viewing goes. One option is optimized and wide page. Optimized is where you can scroll up or down and the wide page is more of a traditional viewing. The wide page view is a bit annoying at least for me cause I often loose my place in the sentance. You can get the Treo 650 through Sprint and Cingular and a couple others I believe. The plan I have with Sprint is $15 a month for unlimited internet use and it does not take away from my talk minutes.

How is the speed? Can it serve as a high speed connection for your laptop? Does the $15/mo require a sprint cell phone acct?
