Drive-by, hit-and-run, city baiting, and other scams

When 3 seemingly very hot masseurs appear out of the blue but something just doesn't feel right, it's probably a good idea to share some thoughts and perspectives.

Chicago is a huge city/market but 3 new ads appearing at once is over 10% increase in the number of listings on rentmasseur:

https://rentmasseur.com/Jone

Yeah right, a certified masseur who doesn't offer therapeutic, go figure! :)

https://rentmasseur.com/Davido

At least this one doesn't claim he is a masseur, but it's an escort ad basically.

https://rentmasseur.com/Vladek

The last one offers "therapeutic," but doesn't claim he is certified. Whatever the case, this seems to command a $10 premium, from the "modest" $250 to $260 per hour.

Has anyone had any experiences with these guys, do they actually travel together, what's the scoop? I can totally imagine them sharing the same room and pulling off some kind of trick.

I am skeptical about masseurs who don't have a home base but travel around the country all the time, especially if they list wherever they happen to be as "home." But these guys seem to be taking it to a whole new level. I remember seing some of their ads a couple of months ago and then they quickly disappeared from the Chicago listings, and now they are back.

And they disappear from Chicago just as suddenly as they appeared!

They are all "based" in Mineapolis now, buyer beware, to say the least.

My guess: 2 or 3 guys traveling together and using multiple super-fake profiles to pull off some kind of trick on as many people as possible. Not sure how bad the trick is but I am pretty sure it can't be good.

I confronted Greka about using dimitry’s pictures and his reply was, “lol, let’s meet to talk about it”.

Not even a hint of shame.

WOW! What infuriates me more than anything is when someone makes me think "well, maybe that hideous orange man has a point."

If he/they are traveling around the US on an expired or tourist visa pulling this shit off ($260 an hour, no less!) on unsuspecting people, I actually wouldn't mind if they got kicked out of the country.

"Greka," "Vladek," "Joseff," and "Davido" are scamming in Los Angeles now.

Their ads all say "available now" at the same time and follow the same formats.

Investigating a bit more, I sorted by distance and mapped each of their locations. Lo and behold, they all originate from the exact same building near La Brea and Hauser. Different phone numbers though.

I don't know what type of scam they're doing, but buyer beware.

First post btw!

Don't LaBrea and Hauser run parallel?

Another one that seems, shall we say, inconsistent!

https://rentmasseur.com/Timwood

There is no way the person in these pix can be 6'5" and 175 lbs. That would be super tall and super skinny which is clearly not the case, just what are these guys thinking when entering all this info, that nobody will notice?!

There is no way the person in these pix can be 35 either. OK, these could be old pix, but then again, it's a new ad, so why put up old pix?!

Not to mention the physical inability to be in Chicago, Indy, and Oklahoma all at the same time. What is he going to do, fly to his outcalls on a private supersonic jet? I guess that's why the $100 surcharge :)

But the pix seem vaguely familiar, maybe someone had an experience if he operated under a different name previously?

PS Of the original 4 in this thread, Jone and Vladek are gone, but Davido and Greka, or whoever is behind these profiles, is now operating in Las Vegas. Interesting.

It never ends, what's up with what appear to be two distinct types of scams?

One seems to be multiple guys sharing the same (typically vague and inconsistent) profile and probably working through a handler, so you never know who will show up and who you are texting. I suspect Timwood on rentmasseur to be this type.

Or, the same guy or a pair working together and having multiple profiles, often with stolen pictures, with separate phone numbers but, again, you never know who you are dealing with. The best indicator is that seemingly distinct guys have the exact same travel schedule, as Davido and Greka above, or my latest "find"...

So how can the same person with the same number be in different cities at the same time?

https://www.masseurfinder.com/members/latinjockcarlos.shtml

https://www.masseurfinder.com/members/latincarlos.shtml

It's probably some kind of operation where someone who speaks English directs a bunch of guys who'll show up at your door, but you are almost guaranteed that they won't look like the pictures, will have limited command of the language, and know very little about massage.

Probably a similar story here, except that they didn't bother to make multiple ads, plus it saves money:

https://rentmasseur.com/Timwood

I guess they just figured out how to trick RM into accepting 3 different locations at the same time. I texted just to check, "naively" asking where they were now and the response was, predictably, "where are you?" without answering my question. So they can be wherever I want them to be, that is, just send me the local guy they have.

And then there is that ad where the phone number is the same

https://rentmasseur.com/Stanly

with this site

http://backpage.com.newyork.escortbabylon.com/post/21865000/

So the same person can also change gender and race on demand, besides being in two different places at the same time.

I am not sure whether it's me noticing these things more or are these scams becoming more and more frequent?

What's making me furious is that you obviously have to do a thorough search for the phone number, pictures, and any other info you can get before hiring a new masseur. It's becoming a chore. Obviously, scammers are figuring out that there is nice money to be made in this business, I wonder how we can fight this and send a strong message that we don't appreciate this kind of shit?

PS And why, oh, why is Chicago one of their favorite targets :-)?

I just don't get this, even if I didn't have to do any massage, I'd find the following schedule grueling:

Jan. 23 - 25: Minneapolis, MN

Jan. 25 - 26: Chicago, IL

Jan. 26 - 27: Indianapolis, IN

Jan. 27 - 28: Nashville, TN

Jan. 28 - 29: Charleston, SC

Jan. 29 - 30: Orlando, FL

Jan. 30 - 31: Tampa, FL

Jan. 31 - Feb. 1: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Feb. 1 - 2: West Palm Beach, FL

Feb. 2 - 3: Naples, FL

Feb. 3 - 4: St Augustine, FL

Feb. 4 - 5: Cape Coral, FL

Feb. 5 - 6: Denver, CO

Feb. 6 - 7: Key West, FL

And why would anyone want a massage from someone who is "on the run" this much?

They are not actually traveling. They are using the exposure mechanism in the web system. By making their location change in the system, they make sure their ad will appear to all the people who are doing a search in one of those cities, for about 2 weeks. So then if they do get a booking in one of the places, they might travel to that one place, but not the other places where they haven’t been booked.

They are prospecting.

The photo is of a somewhat well known model who is unlikely to be performing massage services in his spare time. Unfortunately the general public has proven itself somewhat naive in recent years.

As our dear leader once famously said: "If you say it, they will believe it".

Critical thinking is long gone from large segments of the population. If you post it on Facebook (or rentmassuer, I guess) enough people will buy it.

Here we go again, one more guy with a private Concorde covering LA, Detroit, and Indy all at the same time:

https://rentmasseur.com/Joshmic

PS And if he is able to teleport himself, I am sure he could find a more lucrative line of work than giving massages.

This guys is definitely scam. I got curious and asked him will NYC be on his travel schedule? He replied, as a matter of fact he is in NYC and I could book him with a condition, should pay him (1/3) with iTunes card upfront to book . I told him that there is chatter about him and his scam. He just replied OK and thats it.

Could he be like the nice Nigerian lady who sends emails to me promising a $10 MILLION dollar transfer into my account if only I would be so kind to wire her a $5,000 handling fee?

Bahahahaha.

Apparently this iTunes scam is getting bigger. I'm not active on Grindr so was surprised when someone reached out of the blue and started chatting. After a few days of pleasant exchanges, he started asking for money for a "gift" via an iTunes card! When I asked why, gave me a whole story of an emergency situation! Beware. Sigh.

By the way, did you guys notice that this guy (Joshmic) just weighs 100 pounds :p...probably too eager to get the ad up and running ;) Well, let's atleast send him some energy bars haha.
