I opened my Scruff and Grindr on arriving and immediately I started receiving messages offering massage in my hotel room from some of the world's best looking men. While getting sex in Turkey is pretty easy I wanted the massage experience and booked a four handed massage with two amazing looking fellows. They were at my hotel an hour later and discovered they couldn't actually speak English but used a translation device, which worked fine. They stripped to their underwear and started a splendid four handed massage with synchronized techniques, And despite my attraction I also wanted the massage after a 12 hour flight. when I turned over I saw that they were both hard and at that point it was hard to not just start having sex. One of the guys had the perfect ass so I shifted him over and started rimming him which made him go crazy, i ended up swallowing both of their loads and after we took a relaxing shower together, laughing at our awkward communication and kissing. I only regretted not being able to see them again, or book the scores of other hot masseurs on the APPS. I asked my Turkish gay friends why this unusual massage culture existed and they said that the Arab men from the Gulf prefer sex if its paid - and therefore higher quality and "worth it" so many Turkish men acclimate to massaging as a way of having an active sex life with the tourists. It was about $120 US for this journey to paradise.

How did you know that they would not scam you?

Or that pro-Islamic police (or thugs) wouldn't enter your room and arrest you or do whatever?

I know, Istanbul is a great city with so much to offer, but there has been much political turmoil lately and the tendency is further and further away from the west and its norms. You never know...

Istanbul is one of the great, beautiful cities in the world. Unfortunately Turkey has taken a serious turn for the worse under its current borderline Islamo-facist government. This is not the Istanbul of 5 years ago. The tragedy being inflicted on that country by Erdogan and his cronies is heartbreaking.

Being scammed could be the LEAST of your problems. Have you seen the classic movie Midnight Express?

It is very true the country is now run by a power mongering dictator and all my Turkish friends are very depressed and trying to get to Berlin or Amsterdam but its also still beautiful and very gay friendly. I never felt even slightly at risk and asking my Turkish gay friends the massage industry there is safe and dates back before the founding of the republic.

Is there any cultural limitations? Something to look out for in those places? I hear Morocco is a gay paradise where hot men abound-but am just too scared in Islamic countries-unless I know someone who knows the culture well and dos and don'ts.

a few strange things, cleanliness is considered very important and no turkish man will let you near their asses unless they have just showered and cleaned themselves thoroughly. I made the mistake of fingering the hole of a fellow who had not showered and he grabbed my hand and marched me to my bathroom sink and forcefully washed my hand with soap as of I was a schoolboy.

People should stay and resist and not turn their country over to a demagogic criminal enterprise - but I guess that's easy to say from here.

Who knows if we will end up in a similar situation with the big Orange Dufus. Our Federalism probably prevents it, but one never knows. Once Don Con gets desperate with the unmasking of the Russian hacking, who knows what he will try.

The world is going somewhat crazy.

My Turkish friend has to be careful when talking to friends and family back home over the phone or skype. Thousands have been fired from government jobs and have nothing to live off so that's one of the reasons many who can choose to leave (try finding a job if marked as a traitor). The trend is clearly downward and if one extrapolates, enforcing more traditional morality is the next step. Especially on those liberal city folk, the middle of the country might actually like to see that. The last thing I'd want is to become a headline in the news and hope that the orange man will somehow negotiate my release from a Turkish prison. And if Erdogan's relations with the west continue to deteriorate some prisoners might come in handy as bargaining chips. Be careful out there, guys!

Yup, gays seem to be the perfect whipping boys for such countries. Islamic nations are scary to me-just because of the consequences if caught. Though I keep hearing Morocco is a gay man's delight and filled with gorgeous men. I am too chicken to try.

  • 3 years later...

both turkey and morroco are good - in morroco it was more discrete but i found it's more open in turkey (it's never been illegal there since ottoman times since islamic law is vague about it so any ruler can interpret anyway they want - ironically in most places a bigger taboo is sex with women.

most of these places gay sex is very common (and more accessible than hetero sex) even though it's frowned upon (as is masturbation!)

- next trip i'm planning is pakistan - the men there are amazingly hot and i've heard gay sex is widespread - i'm doing my research on best places and approaches (sadly it's one of the few muslim countries without hammams) so it's a bit trickier unless you're a local

In Istanbul, some of the turkish hammams offer amazing experiences with Turkish men. In Istanbul, I can think of two that are incredible. One was full of sexual tension and discreet hook-ups. The other was hedonistic fucking and sucking. Both offered excellent (and professional) massages. I would love to go back...

I've been to Morocco several times and I would be very cautious there.

There's an Onlyfans featuring a masseur working out of Istanbul - never subscribed but seen it around the blogs.  Some of those screengrabs are pretty hot, showing both masseur and client.  I have always wondered about its veracity as Turkey is not the most welcoming country to gays.

Yes, when you turn on Grindr, you are hit up by a lot of escorts.   Very few regular people.  There are a few reasons.

Grindr is outlawed in Turkey and the penalties of getting caught if you’re a citizen are too high.  People who use Grindr there are on vpns normally.  I don’t even think you can access the app any other way.  So these two hurdles eliminate a lot of non worker users.  There are other apps but not sure if those have been since banned

I met a guy in a sauna there (American) who had his computer stolen during a hire under violent threat.   This is not uncommon.   Turkey may be developed and I love it there.  But the amount of money the average person makes there is very low and the economy is creating desperate people who know they have clients that won’t go to the police.

I personally was told that my profile was being posted to some blog since I didn’t hire some guy or his friends from Grindr I had been chatting w and that I would be attacked for wasting their time if I were seen in the streets.  Angry “straight” guys.   Islamic men there often have a really entitled world view because of how they were raised and this does rears its head when you are propositioned on the street multiple times a day to see if you want sex for money.

To be clear, again, I love Turkey.   Been to quite a few places there.  Will go back.  But be careful if you’re bringing guys back to your room.
