What could be more ridiculous than middle-aged men who hire young male prostitutes complaining that a message board devoted to that very subject is not as polite as discussions at their mother's dinner table? I'm only trying to point to the hypocrisy of this behavior. Don't you get it? When you regulate and monitor behavior more and more, you create an environment which reflects the current framework that many of the church ladies here hate in the Bush Administration. Fucking hilarious. Thanks. This visual is going to keep me amused all morning. At Thanksgiving, I see Dad holding the turkey at the head of the table, Rockwellesque, while Mom dips the baster in a large vat of Glide and then proceeds to demonstrate proper pounding techniques. Not long ago Doug revived a thread from 2001 in which all of the complaints and arguments we have heard from the Church Ladies in recent weeks about the lack of civility here can be found almost verbatim. In other words, the same people have been complaining about the same thing in the same terms for more than 4 years now without any noticeable change. So who is it you're saying is obsessed?

So on all the occasions when you have shown up in threads in which no one addressed any comments to you, and your posts there have consisted of nothing but insults directed at other posters whom you don't like, that was about "things that matter in life rather than . . . the opinions of a largely anonymous group of people"? Who do you think you're fooling? There are plenty of people on this board who are dishonest, but at least they don't insult the intelligence of their readers by telling lies that are so obviously false.

I don't know about anyone else, but I like this board because it brings together guys whose only common interest is in hiring young men for sexual favors. There are two reasons why I participate in the message center:

 

1) I have had a number of unfortunate experiences with "escorts" over the years, one of them life-threatening, and don't want to repeat. Other people's experiences are VERY helpful.

 

2) Precisely because escorting is our only common interest, we have a unique and wide range of opinion and experience here. I love the political discussions, even when those of us who have caught the swamp fever on some subject or other cross the line. Do I like abuse? Of course not. Do I like free discussion? You bet. Most other sites that allow issue discussion are made up of the like-minded. We are not. I like that.

 

It seems to me that the only cases of censorship that make sense on this board are personal threats which go beyond verbal intimidation. A poster who moves from disagreement to abuse will lose his credibility in other areas as well.

Very well put BgMstr4u. I come here for the variety of experiences as well as to learn more about my favorite hobby. Homogeneity lives elsewhere (and I visit there too).

 

The only wish I had for this place is that people felt safe enough to say what's in their hearts and tell their personal stories without fear of ridicule and mockery. Some of us do it anyway, and it strenghens us and toughens us up for the Real World. It's a kind of inexpensive group therapy. If there were only one type of person here, the life lessons would be very much diminished.

4. I agree with the fact that there is room for EVERYONE here. I either enjoy posters; ignore posters, or question poster's logic and/or hypocrisy. Nowhere do I suggest that a poster's privileges be revoked for being too boring, rude, ignorant or gruff. I do, however, condone banishment for threats of violence, or revelations of personal information.

 

5. If the same people complain about the same posters consistently, why do the same Church Ladies CONTINUE TO READ POSTS BY THE SAME GUYS? Perhaps that thought should be examined in the fetish forum?

 

6. I was comparing the Bush Administration's antics to the flavor of the new Hooboy Administration. If you still don't get that, I feel sorry for you, and continue to suggest that you carefully reason your responses in the future, to avoid perpetrating the appearance of ignorance. :-)
