Are female escorts this complicated?

I guess the reasoning behind sending a copy of your picture ID, is maybe to weed out if your copper not?. Cuz I doubt a cop would send a copy of his driver's license. And I doubt that they would had the forethought, to have one to send. There have been being, a lot of stings, for prostitution. On both sides. But, I agree, that I really wouldn't be wanting to send mine.

When I first started escorting, I turned to the Google™ to get tips and whatnot. The websites I came across were for female escorts and suggested all levels of precautions and session management (video cameras, work address for client, background checks, even an alarm clock!).

Of course, being a complete n00b, I didn't realize there's a difference between escorting in the straight world vs. gay world until I found this forum. It's like night and day. Some of the tips that were emphasized as essential for female escorts were complete deal breakers for male clients. I felt so bad for my first client once I realized the error in my ways. Luckily, I found this forum right after my first session, and apparently my client didn't know better either because he hired me a few days later. I'm glad because the second time around, I made up for my first time fumble and even spent extra time with him.

I suspect some straight guys can be very brutal with women and usually women might not have the physical strength to fend off a brutish rogue. The fact that the client' s ID is lodged with the female escort could be a way of preventing overly aggressive behaviour. Male escorts I have been with are physically fit and unlikely to be messed with by unruly clients. I am stating this not that men are superior just that some woman just aren't as muscular.

I have dabbled in both scenes. The stringent screening process female escorts have can be daunting. But if you present yourself as a sincere and respectful gentleman, most ladies won't go so far as to ask for an ID.

Personally, I have not had to go to the extreme of sending my ID. Mostly because I know three ladies particularly well and they are able to vouch for me if I choose to see another companion (which is not often). As an interesting counterpoint, it is quite something else to contact a guy and within the span of about 10-15 minutes, set a date and time to meet.

A cop might, however, have a fictitious driver's license to send.

With the right screening resources a DL is easily verifiable.

A fictitious license issued in conjunction with a police sting operation could be (and probably would be) issued by the state in which the sting is being conducted.

There's an interview program on Chicago radio ("This Is Hell," WNUR, 9:00 - 1:00 Saturday morning; thisishell.com) which is trying to set up a discussion with one worker from each side of the gender divide to discuss similarities and differences. When a man hires a woman, I think patriarchy pulls towards a power differential. That makes sex work more risky for women. The work is less likely to be a fair market transaction and more likely to have at least some element of exploitation. Do these ideas ring true to other members?

My sense from the women sex workers I know, this is very true. Plus there's underlying societal misogyny that views women as disposable to/exploitable for men, so that the threat of violence or exploitation is ever present for women (in and out of sex work, if we're being honest).

Think about the extreme of war: if a man is captured by the enemy, he likely fears torture and death; a woman usually fears that, plus rape.

Successful female sex workers are likely to be aware of the attributes and qualities that male clients seek, and they will most likely customize their services and fees to the market conditions. Escort services and attributes that are in great demand among male clients are usually more prominent in online escort ads and fetch higher prices. I have a good relationship with female escorts all the time, and I even get discounts which is nice, because I like their service a lot.

NO WAY.

Thank God I Am Gay

You might think differently if you had stalkers or people trespassing on your property or you were subjected to property damage or violence…  I’m all for that extra screening. I feel pretty confident When I say that being gay definitely does not make one immune to violence or discrimination.
