I like long hair. As a top, long hair gives me something to grab.

This. Kinda like reins on a horsie. Only more fun.

Gotta go with Tyler The Bad Wolf...clever...hot...and the Botticelli-esque hair.

This +1000. Really smart, really interesting, really unique among escorts, really sexy, really awesome at nekkid play time. My go-to guy in NYC.

I think on some younger men, long hair looks very sexy -- as long as it doesn't look like ladies' hair. I think the older you get, the harder it is to pull off.

Here's a guy where it works for me -- curly and messy.

And I might like his hair if it was neat. But as it is, ugh no. It's a hair fail for me.

And we haven't talked about women's hair much on this thread. But am I the only who thought Courtney Cox's hair on Friends always looked greasy?

FF, you have any theories as to why men have a fetish for long hair on women? Many women, including me, look better with hair that's shorter than shoulder length.

Hmm, let's ask the expert. Gman, why are you always ogling the long hair chicks? :)

The evolutionary psychology theory is that longer hair gives the viewer more information with which to judge health and reproductive fitness.

I hope I can chime in even though I'm not FreshFluff. I don't think it's a 'fetish' exactly-at least not for me considering the fact that I'm not sexually attracted to women. But could it be something evolutionary/biological-long hair equaling youth/vitality/child-bearing. Wasn't it customary historically in the Middle Ages for unmarried virginal girls to have longer hair and matrons to have shorter hair or if not shorter put up in some kind of braid? I also think the Bible may have something in it about long hair being a mark of beauty for a woman. And of course Hasidic Orthodox women cover their hair with a wig-women's hair is supposed to be so sensual that it can cause men to go 'insane' with lust and should only be seen by their husbands. And of course strict Moslems cover their women up completely except for their eyes to protect them from our (men's ) raging hormones. :p

PS I wrote this before seeing that FF asked my opinion. It's interesting to see that we have some of the same reasoning.

To appeal to the broadest spectrum of clients, escorts should have relatively short hair. Ace in Vegas has about the longest hair I think would pass muster. Longer than that, and the escort has more of a niche appeal.

When it comes to other men, all bets are off. Asian men in particular often look good with long hair. They even rock a man bun - perhaps because some historically attested hairstyles include them.

I have great hair. But it's both thick (as in I have a thick head of hair) and coarse (as in each individual hair is thick.) So I look better with layered or wedge hairstyles. Once it gets much past the bottom of my chin, it's impossible to style.

Somehow, I don't think I need long hair for anyone with eyes to judge how healthy it is. Plus healthy hair and good health don't always go hand-in-hand.

G-man, if a woman's hair is her glory, why does it have to be long? The longer, the more glorious?

Somehow, I think historically it was more of a bother to cut frequently, hence it was worn at a longer length. It also was connected to femininity and personal ornamentation.

The guy (assuming everyone can see the same screenshot of the video before playing it) with the pointy warlocks-difficult to call them sideburns when they look more like they are growing down from his hair instead of actually growing on the side of his face-is vaguely attractive to me. I mean I can see he is cute. But he is much too androgynous looking for me. And this is coming from someone attracted to various Asian males. For example

(Speaking of longer hair)

But he also looks nice with shorter hair

And I'm an equal opportunity man bun hater. I don't care if the guy is of Caucasian (includes Asians) or African ancestry.

On a biological/evolutionary basis which animal is going to 'appear' healthier? One with ragged clumps of hair/fur missing-or one with a good head of hair/pelt/coat

Yep-that's exactly it.

Gift Of The Magi anyone?

Healthy hair definitely doesn't mean good health and vice versa. But it's a reason why, all other things being equal, men would prefer long hair. Your historical convenience explanation doesn't explain that part. I'm definitely not someone who would try to talk anyone into any particular hair style. This is just my attempt to answer your question.

And yeah, man buns are a turn off for me too.

I'm pretty sure that's Eunhyuk of Super Junior. When their hairstyles are more similar, he resembles Tablo, who's more cute than androgynous.

Some guys look sexy with long hair and others look silly. The man bun looks good on no one. I am convinced someone's girlfriend wanted to make her boyfriend look like an ass and started a hair revolution in the process. I hope it runs out of steam soon.

I love it, and wish there were more escorts with long hair. I have longer than shoulder-length hair myself, so I know from personal experience that some guys love it, more guys hate it, and for the rest - the majority - it’s a case-by-case call.

I am also a big guy, and while my weight has never been an issue for any escort, oddly enough my hair has. A long-time, well-reviewed escort in NYC, who was otherwise friendly and eager, insisted that I tie it up in a bun. Once we got going, he kept freaking out if even a single hair got loose and brushed against him. Finally, he confessed that it reminded him of his ex-wife. I thought that was hilarious, but it definitely put a damper on things. Ever since, my long hair is one of those “first contact revelations” I make to any potential hire, since clearly it’s a deal-breaker for some.

For me, a good escort doesn’t let his personal taste interfere with his client’s pleasure, and a great one finds something to his taste in every client. I love it when that something is my hair, which fortunately has happened more than once.

Battle,

I have to agree with you there. Something about that whole "bad-boy who turns out to be something more" vibe he has. He is definitely on my short list!

QTR,

FWIW, I think that for most men, "long" starts at shoulder length. If you can flip it, even if it's an ironic flip :), it works.

I think so too, as far as what length is considered long. But what do you mean by flip? Flip all of it so it's in your face? What's the significance of that?

Admittedly, while the way I look and dress is female/feminine, I don't act in a stereotypically female way. I don't simper, flirt, or act seductive. (The last two might happen in a mild way with someone I know and am interested in.) So you may be referencing something I'm unfamiliar with.

Aside from a haircut ( and I wouldn't mind the hair if it were only a bit shorter-say shoulder length) he needs to take those prongs out of his nose and laser off that tattoo.

I get the comment about the nose ring -- I feel the same way -- but that tattoo is so subtle and tasteful-looking. Since I can't read it, I can't tell if it is in fact tasteful.

I like asymmetric black-ink only tattoos much better than others. It's the gaudy, busy and kinda tacky full-color sleeves that bother me. Back tattoos are less of an issue.

If you are really asking, it's a 'flirty' move that supposedly shows interest in a guy. They do it in movies/TV/plays and describe it in books. I think it's usually a bang or lock of hair hanging down on their forehead. Or it could be with tresses around their shoulder.

There's a very small hair flip-minimal at about 1:31 in this video. Usually they are more obvious than this. I could find some other examples if you don't like this one.

I can't read it because it's partially blocked-and even if it weren't I might still not be able to read it, but it's some passage in Hebrew. (I could tell when I enlarged the picture a bit).

It seems that that thick, coarse, Asian hair provides so many styling options. At least half the men at the gym I go to are Asian - nearly all of them have great hair. The current rage is a high skin fade with sort of a sculpted mop for the top. It looks good on nearly any young man, but it looks fabulous on a young Asian man.

We Asians have fab hair! *preens and tosses hair in a sultry manner*

Speaking of which, I can do a halfhearted flip. But a hair toss a la the movie About Last Night is easier.
