Rate to enter the sauna in Madrid?

Rate to make purchases at Black & White?

Rate for the rent boys in the sauna in Barcelona?

Rate for the rent boys in the sauna in Madrid?

What "rate" for what?

Your question is not clear, as asked.

Sorry I caused confusion by asking very unclear. Sorry about that. I meant the boys at Thermas in Barcelona. Does anyone know their typical rate for sex? Thanks

I paid 60 euros in May 2015. Great selection of guys to choose from, clean facilities, and no pressure to "buy". They flirt with you as you wander the halls, meet the guy you like, grab condoms from the cashier's desk, and go to your cabin to play. You can shower afterwards and return to your locker to grab payment for your escort.

I'm posting without having read any of this thread, so forgive if my account is duplicative.

I dropped by this afternoon (a Tuesday) and spend maybe two hours there. There were quite a few extremely good looking and friendly money boys, perhaps outnumbering clients three to one. Most spoke english decently well and were friendly and quite seductive, happy to show their wares. I didn't engage beyond responding to small talk and quickly telling them not to waste their time on me as I wasn't looking to hire. My one complaint is that that didn't suffice. These guys are persistent. Polite, but persistent. A few pointed out that it was an escort venue and implied that if I wasn't looking to hire there was no point being there (I proved them wrong, but that's a different subject :) ). I would say that if you indeed aren't looking to hire, the barrage of solicitations can be annoying.

The place was clean and large. It didn't allow smoking (a major plus in my book, especially when compared to Sauna Casanova down the block which didn't seem to have money boys but a lot of smokers). I didn't ask about rates, but if it was ~€50 as I think I've read, you'd be a fool to hire in any other city. At four times that rate these sexy boys would be a bargain, so long as you're ok with a sauna hook up (which I imagine has its pros and cons).

The front desk boy was extremely cute and, shall we say, dedicated to customer satisfaction. He was not a money boy.

As an aside, Grindr also seems to have a large number of hustlers in Barcelona. I did ask rates there, it got responses ranging from €50 to 120. To their credit, they did not seem to engage in outbound hustling but simply made it clear when you approach them.

I did not sample any professional wares in Barcelona but suspect I will be called upon to do so in Madrid later this week, client in tow.

Given the guys who work there are all freelance, you'd have to negotiate with the individual who excites you the most.

The negotiation will depend largely on your looks, personality, sexual needs and Spanish language skills. Given that a guy may earn €50-80 in a session in the sauna, I guess an offer of dinner+€300-400 would be acceptable.

I'm looking to book a trip to either Barcelona or Istanbul later today.

Anyone know the rates for Istanbul guys?

And for Barcelona, can you recommend a decent hotel that's OK with guys visiting?

Do I want to base myself near Thermas Sauna in Bcn?

Not from personal experience, but I heard that the Axel hotel is not good on letting guests up, if you were considering it.

The neighborhood around Thermas (or more so, Axel) is the gayborhood, so that'd be a fun place to camp.

Report back.

My direct experience of the Axel is very different.

Over the years, I've stayed there many times with different boyfriends. And when I was single and stayed there, I had different companions (working and non-working guys) visit for a session and some stayed for breakfast. In fact, as a regular frequent visitor to Barcelona, I found that other smart hotels were just as "gay friendly" as the Axel.

As in any hotel, as long as you the guest and your visitors are respectful, not obviously high nor falling down drunk, there will not be difficulties in Spain. Security concerns may mean that Reception wants to know of any visitors to your room and may check their ID but since the hotel is concerned for my security, I have no problem alerting them to the expected arrival of Jose/Ignacio/Lucas et al.

do i wanna meet these boys????

can't wait for my trip. think i'll be based near thermas, any recommendations on things to do nearby in the day (tourist things), usually I like to do the free walking tours (the free tours always seem better than the paid tours, of course I tip afterwards)

If this is your first visit, stick to BCN...there are amazing places to visit outside the city, but for a first time and with a limited amount of days, best to stick to discovering the city itself. A few thoughts:

  • It is tourist season, so it will be crowded. Very LGBT friendly city, but the tourists can be total bigots
  • Stroll thru Las Ramblas
  • Save a day for the beach
  • Must check out Parc Guell - the views are stunning.
  • If you like live creatures, the aquarium is very modern and cool

Enjoy & share back what marvels you discover - including the men! ;)

I realize you're a 'newbie' here as we all once were, but surely you have some sense. Asking for "any recommendations" on Barcelona might well take longer to answer than your trip will last. Imagine putting that question about NYC to a New Yorker?!

Barcelona is one of the world's great cities, both historic and modern: there are myriad things for you to do. First, you should be using Google and spending the days in advance of your trip researching and planning. Decide your interests for this first trip - architecture, history, food & wine, beach, art etc - and check the related websites.

True-review has given you some good pointers, but I'd just add to 2 things he suggested:

1. Las Ramblas is interesting but the southern half is very touristy (locals much prefer the much smarter northern part) and there is a lot of street-crime, mainly snatching bags wallets and phones, in that area.

2. Parc Guell is wonderful but capacity and admission are now restricted so you need to buy a timed ticket in advance

Last, I wonder why you haven't bothered to express any thanks to the people who have taken time to respond to your questions.

I returned to Barcelona, Spain, and visited Sauna Thermas again. Even though I was pleased during my prior visits, the place, last night, was better than I ever found it.

The selection of rent boys is beyond description. The ratio of clients to rent boys was about four to one last night. When I return today, the ratio might be different but I suspect the turn out to be good.

With a few exceptions, there was a larger ratio of exceptionally good looking rent boys than usual.

Even though, last night, most of the rent boys were Brazilian and Cuba and Colombian, many were from Eastern Europe. Therefore, at Sauna Thermas, there is something to please just about anyone.

Even though I tuly enjoy the Brazilian saunas and their offerings, there is no doubt that Barcelona is better, in many ways.

For those who have given up on Brazil, at this sauna you will find dozens of Brazilian rent boys.

The prices at Sauna Thermas for an evening, including a visit with a rent boy, are cheaper than in Brazil, factoring in entrance and facility costs and all.

I previously reported that the sauna was remodeled a couple of years ago. Thus, the facilities are modern, clean and pleasant.

Try it, you'll like it!

So, what can be said about the Sauna Thermas that has not yet been said...

Went there on a midweek afternoon and was pleased to see just how nice the facilities are -- well kept, clean, appropriately lit, etc., etc.

Part of my life as a "sauna addict" is the lingering aspect - just hanging out and staying around and having fun. Although I knew that this would not be "that" kind of place, I must say that there is a very laid back atmosphere here combined with the availability of gentlemen for pleasure. I was eagerly welcomed by many many guys but never felt any pressure to partake.

As it turned out, I did spend some time with one Russian and one Brazilian guy. Also had nice conversations with other Brazilians, a Bulgarian, Romanian, ad so on. It is a place I could see myself become easily addicted to if I lived even remotely close by.

If guys are considering the place or just curious about my experience, I am happy to tell all - not totally sure what constitutes an appropriate post here vs. a review so I am erring on the side of caution (just for now...)
