If Dave is planning the luncheon to be like those in the past, I don't think anyone has to worry about privacy, etc. It might initially have some of the awkwardness of a business lunch or other setting where you don't know people well, but it rapidly should be fun after that. I'm guessing the restaurant is one of several that are near our preveious site and any of those should be fine for this.

hey everyone - we're currently up to about 30 attendees. the split (like previous years) is 50/50 escorts/clients. amazing how that always works out ;)

 

the strip club visit... oy vey, the guy who committed to heading it up has now backed out, and isnt coming at all - schedule conflict with his work. anyone else interested in lightly organizing it AND being sure they can commit to coming? I guess if there's no interest, than it doesnt have to happen... but I suspect otherwise.

 

just got an email from one of the escorts who is attending the luncheon. he's now a dancer at Secrets - the aformentioned strip club - and is trying to get scheduled to work the saturday night that people would go there.

 

woah, just realized - we are exactly a month away from the actual luncheon date! (it's sunday, january 18th)

Just one reminder for anyone who hasn't been to one of these meetups before about one point of etiquette that we always follow:

 

*** Escorts eat free! The clients always cover the cost of the brunch. ***

 

Would someone like to volunteer to be the one who manages the the final bill and figuring out who needs to pay what?

 

My math skills suck after three or four cranberry and vodkas :)

What day is the Luncheon as well as the time and place it's going to be at? Booked my hotel nearby where MAL is going to be, but mainly looking to be in DC on the 14th as I think the Luncheon is on the 15th or 16th of January. Not sure. Please get back to me ASAP.

Really looking forward to this. LBT did a lot to establish this tradition, which included a lot of subsidy from him as well as from other clients, so it's up to us (clients) to make sure it continues and remains successful.

JD, as PK wrote, the luncheon is on sunday january 18th. it’ll start at noon and probably wrap up around 1:30 or 2pm. demo scenes at my place following (a few blocks away), for anyone interested in watching or participating -that’ll probably go for an hour.

 

if you are coming to the luncheon and have already told me so, I’d really appreciate getting an email address from you so when I contact you on january 14th, I can most easily give you detailed information about where to go.

Zigfeld's/Secrets Outing Jan 17

 

Now that the holidays have passed, I thought that it would be a good time to post details for the Saturday, January 17 visit to Zigfeld's/Secrets. This event is open to escorts and clients in case anyone is wondering.

 

 

For those unfamiliar with DC, Ziegfeld's/Secrets is a very popular drag cabaret and strip bar in southwest near the Potomac. It's practically an institution in the Gay community. Perhaps one of the premier drag shows in the nation hosted by the indomitable Ella Fitzgerald is held every weekend. Her shows include a line up of amazing talent with The Ladies of Illusion. January 17 promises a spectacular event as Ella will celebrate her 60th birthday. From past experiences I can promise this will be a show not to be missed.

 

 

Not into drag? No problem. Secrets hosts some of the hottest go-go boys you'll find just about anywhere. DC allows full nude dancing which usually surprises out of town visitors. Most jurisdictions don't allow full nudity. However, you are not allowed to touch the guys below the waist or above the knee. They are pretty strict about that rule since they could lose their liquor license. But it's not much of an impediment to getting up close to the dancers.

 

 

During the holidays, I took one for the team and made a site visit just to see what's on offer. WOW!! Let me say that Secrets has an awesome stable of very good looking guys right now. Some of my favorites include Jeremy, JR, and Nico.

 

 

One more thing, there's a decent chance that this location may not be around much longer. Yep, another sports complex is in development for Buzzard Point, the area where Z/S is located. In a couple years, DC United will have a new soccer stadium in this location. I'm not optimistic that DC will put forth the effort to relocate the venue a second time. Therefore, don't let the chance pass by especially if you are from out of town.

 

 

Here are the details for the evening:

 

 

Meeting up at Zigfeld's/Secrets when doors open at 9:00 PM. I plan to be there when doors open and will be upstairs near one of the bars. Come as part of the group or individually whenever. (Will send details on where to meet inside the bar by private message to all who RSVP.)

 

 

Cover charge is $10. You get a dollar off coupon towards a beer as well.

Coat check is $2.00 plus tip.

Mixed drinks (premium brand) are $6.75. Bottled water is $4. I don't drink beer so don't have those costs.

I've heard from several forum members who plan to join this outing. Also, if anyone would like to go to dinner before heading over, I'm willing to make reservations at a good restaurant. That would be around 7:00 PM if anyone is interested.

Saturday Dinner Details

 

I've sent confirmation memos to all the guys who sent messages about going to Zigfeld's/Secrets and/or dinner on Saturday evening. If you did not receive one and had RSVPd let me know by PM.

 

We have a group of about nine including clients and escorts for dinner. Here are a few details:

I've chosen a place that comes highly recommended by Dave called Ted's Bulletin on 14th Street. This is in the DuPont - Logan Circle neighborhood. The atmosphere is very casual, however, they do not take reservations. It's call ahead seating. Given that situation, I'm a little concerned about service and adjusted the time to 6:30 PM.

 

We will do separate checks and escorts can be covered by their clients. If there are any escorts who want to attend but don't have a client with them, I'm willing to pick up their tab.

There are three bars in this space: a front bar immediately when you walk in, a middle alcove bar, and a back bar. I will be in the area in front of the middle alcove bar near the tall cabaret tables. This is a good central location that offers a good view of the guys on the bars and the platform stages.
