I'm not saying y'all are wrong. But y'all are making assumptions the way that a lot of straight guys would about every gay men. Does every time we hug another guy have to have something sexual involved? If we knew that Andy were straight, we'd just say they were bros. I mean Mr. Recker doesn't look that put out by it. It might be something he even expects from publicity shots.

Hey, @Gar1eth : LOL. No. "We'd"? Speak for yourself please. :)

 

And respectfully, although I acknowledge the "ya'll"/that you're perhaps directing your remarks at guys besides me, since you quoted me I'm responding: I'm not assuming anything. I'm saying that the height disparity makes Cohen's arm around Recker look awkward to my eyes.

 

And I'm in agreement with your last sentence--it goes to part of my point: He's perhaps informally obligated for publicity reasons to do such photos. That might be part of the reason that it feels a little perfunctory for him. The lack of any physical contact reciprocity/touching on Recker's part is what ultimately tips the scale in my (over)reading.

 

Speaking for myself, I usually instinctively find a gender- and occasion-appropriate way to reciprocate the physical contact when I'm about to take a photo with someone and they put their arm around my waist, shoulder or even throw up a wannabe gang symbol for the very reason to not have the photo appear awkward or like I'm being a sourpuss. It's usually a funnier and/or more "awwwww"-inspiring pic that way. How sexy would it have been if Recker had put his arm around Cohen's shoulder, too? "We'd" be having a different conversation! :)

He's been amazing since the Yanks reacquired him, especially this postseason. The other night, while another player was being interviewed, Robertson was getting dressed behind him. There was an extended view of his lean, taut back, and a brief view of his chest, but (alas) the camera stayed above the waist.
