Today "Doug in Los Angeles" 10th Review appears in the column listings escorts new reviews, only there's no 10th Review! Any idea what happened? A possible glitch maybe?

I know there has been some speculation as to if "Doug" is indeed genuine. He hasn't had an ad up on any web site either in quite awhile. The last one I can recall was on Men4RentNow. The ones on RentBoy seem to go up and down periodically.

Oh how I wish he really was the real thing! His ads and reviews sound like just the thing I've been searching for for years now! My only problem is something just doesn't sound right. I get a gut feeling that something is very off about his reviews. Has anybody else noticed that they ALL seem to have the same writing and speech patterns? Even the alleged "British" client sounds odd! I'm very familiar with the British and the way they speak and the way the person expresses himself in that review just sounds off. I honestly hope to read one day that he is indeed the "Real Thing"! I want a guy like that so very bad but genuine and honest.

Has anybody actually been with or heard anything about this Doug in LA?

Thanks!

This is my take on things. If you believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and the Tooth Fairy-- then you should have no problem believing that Doug is the real thing.

Sometimes when it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and smells like a duck, it's a duck.

Good luck to you if you ever do meet this "dude".

Of the 10 reviews, 9 are from 1st Timers.

Doug is reportedly a straight top. While the picture is nice (if it's really him), it seems to me that there are tons of straight muscular tops (too many in my opinion ;))- and many of them have face pictures. But maybe I'm wrong about there being lots of straight, muscular tops.

There's some wisdom in what you say, but generalization don't always hold. Mike Masters in NYC has almost all first timer reviews, and at the time I saw him last year, all of his reviews were from first timers. But he was great, and I had a very good time with him. Just goes to show that sometimes those first timers know what they're talking about. I say, since Bearman is so interested, he should try Doug, and even if it doesn't work out well, Bearman can write a review to balance out the others.

For me, in of itself, all reviews from first timers would not make them invalid. What raises alarm bells for me, however, is when all reviews written by first time reviewers are also all written in the same writing style and all give the same limited information. But again, that's something each individual will have to decide for themself. Just because I don't believe it, doesn't mean you shouldn't believe it.

I agree with your statement that “all reviews from first timers would not make them invalid. “

The remainder of what you wrote is persuasive, but only partially factual.

I conclude this because you wrote “when all reviews written by first time reviewers are also all written in the same writing style and all give the same limited information - “

Most people cannot write well. Consequently, when called upon to write a review (or any other composition, for that matter), many use a guide or something written about a similar topic. The writer will change the words in the guide to fit facts but the composition will be almost a copy of the guide with facts changed.

The above is why many, but certainly not all, reviews have a similar writing style.

On the other hand, some reviews are obviously written by the same person when it comes to misspelling of identical words and incorrect punctuation or incorrect use of a word, together with a remarkably similar writing style. If those errors or trend are present in a series of reviews, I would bet money that the reviews are bogus and/or were written by the same person.

The 10th Review eventually posted and sounds just like all the others, with the same writing patterns, same wording. And lo and behold by a first time reviewer! I'm not going to spend $280 dollars plus travel just to verify what seems obvious.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Bigdaddy, welcome to the Forum!!

I'm going to assume your addition to the thread was the "i had a session with him...details". Just as an FYI, you need to put your new addition to the thread outside the last quote element

to make the comment show up outside the yellow quoted material.

Also this entire thread was started almost a year ago. It's helpful in that case to include a link for the escort or the review since the original post in this thread refers to a review that had just been published at the time.
