I'm not sure any working guys will want to answer this, but I'll take a shot anyway:

On a recent thread about a guy to avoid, another escort chimed in to agree. He didn't elaborate, but because he was willing to stick his neck out and publicly express a negative opinion of a "colleague," it felt like his input had weight to it. I've seen no evidence that he's a malicious person, so I took it as an honest, well-intentioned warning to forum members. I know it's not the first time this has happened, but it got me wondering how other escorts feel about it -- whether you would openly (on the forum) warn clients away from "bad guys," or only do so privately, or if your general rule is to steer clear of something that could make you a target in return?

This is a very interesting question! I am glad you asked.

In my mind there are two ways in which this can play out.

There are escorts who consistently are supporting the community, giving recommendations, answering questions, speaking highly of their peers and overall doing their best to strengthen the community and improve the quality of the industry. I have seen such escorts in rare occasions carefully and elegantly chime in adding to warnings about other escorts. When this happens I tend to pay close attention and make a mental note.

On the other hand there are escorts who seem to think their best way to publicize themselves is to down talk what they see as their competition. You often hear these escorts talk about how other escorts are terrible and they are wonderful. Sometimes this attacks are very subtle, sometimes they are very overt and crass but more often than not the intention is very transparent. When I see this I simply move on.

Personally I will only talk about other escorts if I am willing to wholeheartedly recommend him, if I have first hand experience of him being really, really good. If I have met him and he is not the best, or if he is really bad or if he has bad reputation and people ask me about him I tend to play dumb and say I have no idea. The only instance in which I would say something is when I have incontestable proof that dealing with the escort is dangerous in any way.
