I was going to try a new hire this week and after confirming an incall in a 5 min span text it was at a hotel. The escort isn't travelling so I found this a little odd. Is it normal that an escort will have a hotel room ready a day in advance if they live in town. Customarily when my other hires host its been at their place and normally only travelling escorts are at hotels. I do know some escorts get hotels or motels when they don't want to host. Am I being too paranoid? If its a sting how would you protect yourself?

I know people say on the forums to only hire guys who are reviewed but doesn't someone have to be the first one to do that?

You don't mention what city you are in, which would make a difference on how one might answer. There are a few southern cities, Nashville especially, that are notorious for setting up stings to entrap men who hire men. (They don't seem too concerned with heterosexual escorts and hiring for some reason.)

There could be any number of innocuous reasons an escort might get a hotel room in his own city. But like you, I would be a bit suspicious. Follow your gut feeling. I have found that that is a good initial guide. After that, yes, I would be careful. You might just ask him, "are you a policeman or involved in any way with law enforcement." You might meet him initially in a public place and see how the conversation goes.

Something does smell fishy here though......

cheers.

With 100% accuracy, I can assure you the answer to this question will always be no if it is really a policeman or someone involved in law enforcement. I have no clue where this myth started but no police officer is required to answer this or any other question truthfully, and especially not an undercover officer.

As to whether or not your escort is real or a police officer, following your gut is pretty good advice. It is not that uncommon, however, for a local escort to have a hotel for incalls.

There's guys out there who can't host in their home time for whatever reason. I don't see anything odd about it. Also, some guys put in their rates something like rate+hotel or charge more for incalls. So that's something you'd have to find out.

I agree -- could be bait or fish.

One possibility is that some of the cheap hotels, especially those with kitchenettes, become overflow housing for those on public assistance. This could be the escort's temporary or semi-permanent residence. I've met some great rough trade at hotels like this, but I pass when they ask if I'm generous.

Proceed with caution. Because it can be difficult to detect a sting operation it may be best just to walk away.

There are some mild red flags here. If you really want to take the guy for a spin, be very careful about what you say. If it's a sting, the "escort" will probably be wired or there is some listening device in the room. NEVER discuss any particular sex act and money in the same exchange. The escort will try to get you to do that by asking things like "So, you want me to suck your cock for $250. ?" or "My rate for fucking you is $250., are you OK with that?" You could respond with "I'm paying you to spend some time with you" or some other wording that conveys that your paying him for his time. I don't know if this is would keep it "legal" (I'm no expert) but it would go a long way in your defense.

There is risk when you're meeting a "new" guy.. best, as always, to check for reviews and hire the real pros.

I don't think the hotel in and of itself is a reason to be suspicious. There are dozens of reasons why a local might be staying in a hotel. Perhaps his heat is broken or some other maintenance issue. Why don't you just ask him why he's using a hotel and see if you like the answer or not?

Thanks for the suggestions. I did ask why the hotel but never got a response back yet. The laws in Canada are a little iffy and influx at the moment but prostitution is technically legal you just can't solicit any sexual interactions for money in a public place.

Clive, In your initial post, you didn't mention that you're in Canada. Hotel prostitution stings simply do not happen in Canada. The law takes zero interest unless there is street solicitation, brothel keeping, living off the avails, trafficking or underage, and the laws are indeed in flux on the first 3 of these points. There is probably a perfectly good reason why your escort is hosting in a hotel and, since you've asked him, you should expect an answer.

Beautifully put. I just realized this is a talk about a Canadian escort in Canada.

Zero chances of a sting, unless he is a minor, has mentioned it or you have requested to buy drugs from him.

I have at different times kept a hotel room for in calls whenever I had long stay guests. I wouldn't think this is a reflag at all. My only suggestion would be that as soon as you get into the hotel room, call a friend of yours telling him that you got to the hotel room and that you will be there for an hour and that you will call him as soon as you come out. If you were nervous about him trying anything, that would stop him immediately, since he knows someone knows you are there.

I love that in this Country we don't have to worry about the strong arm of the law. =)

I hope he is great, fun and that you have a riot!
