Peering through the Andrew Christian underwear site and checked on the sizes to find 36-38 is Extra Large.

Now I understand that these underwear are not for those with an extra ounce of fat, but sizing 36-38 as extra large is unusual, or is it that I have just been shopping in the Husky Boys section too long?

So my answer is: 'Yes I am extra Large...well extra extra extra extra.....extra large.

Nope. 30 here. BUT if I could find one I'd like an escort with a bigger belly (not huge, just larger). Unfortunately it seems that most people want to hire muscle bound guys with six packs, so that's what's out there. By the way purplekow you should see how depressing it is to buy clothes in Europe. I'm hardly big and at times I think I'm going to have to ask where the husky sizes are kept! :(

PK. Husky Boys??? Your mother must have taken you to Sears for annual school shopping? No, that is not extra large. I am a small, 28-32. Meds are usually 34-36. Large 36-38 ish. And the extras usually take take off after that.

As you may know, I'm fanatical about Burberry clothing. While I generally wear a medium in US garments, for Burberry I'm typically an XL even an XXL for polo shirts. Even then breathing is an option. Can't tell you what it does to your self esteem! Ah, the price we pay for fashion.

I did the Sears "Husky" section as well. I've had periods getting back skinnier, but right now, I'm limited to the big-and-tall sections.

I've heard (but have no personal experience with this) that high-end women's clothes tend to run larger, presumably so the women who can afford them can boast "Oh, this is a size 4".

Ahh the Husky Boys section at Sears. I knew it well in my youth. My Mann brand blue jeans were huskies. Then in high school due to puberty I lost weight and was a medium until my late twenties. The after effects of puberty faded and here in my dotage, I'm a whale. I have trouble finding clothes because I'm narrow-shouldered, fat, and short. So I can't use the big 'n' tall store.

Speaking of brands from yesteryear aside from Mann's Husky-Sized Jeans, did anyone ever wear Sedgefield Jeans? They looked a lot like Levi's, but they were a lot softer from the start instead of taking multiple washings to get that way. Until Levi's introduced their pre-washed Jeans, that was the main brand I wore.

Speaking of Levi's- I wore their Regular Fit Size 42 waist for years. Then in 2009 it had probably been a year since I had bought new jeans. I think my local stores didn't always carry size 42, so I ordered them from Kohls online and had them mailed to my house. I didn't even try them on. I took off the tags and washed them. I tried them on and while I know washing can shrink new jeans-but they didn't fit at all. I compared them to my old jeans. The new ones were much cut much much shorter to sit lower at the waist. I go online and find out that there were loads of complaints. Levi's had kept the same number on the jeans 505's but had totally redesigned the fit for guys with small butts who like wearing the jeans really low just above the butt. It seemed funny to me with all the news about how the waistlines in this country are getting larger on the whole not smaller to suddenly redesign a jean to fit smaller guys. I mean it seemed to me if they were coming out with a new style, why didn't they come out with a new number as well. Anyway it was upsetting. I've been wearing Levi's for over 30 years- because they fit me best. And now they don't have a style that does. I had to change to Wranglers which in the past hadnt fit me well but now they had some newer styles that did. Anyone else notice the change in Levi's 5 years ago?

In Asia I'm Extra-Large, in Europe I'm Large and in the USA I'm Medium.

I'm really surprised at that Steven. I mean while I know that Europeans in general are smaller than we in the USA are, I've heard that Europeans are increasing in size too. And in any case you have always looked athletically normal to me. The only thing I can think of is that muscles as well as large tallywackers take up a lot of space.

I prefer a medium in my underwear. They are a little tight, but it gives me a little support on the back end, and makes me feel sexy....'granny panties' are coming someday, but I'm just not there yet.....Now in shirts I'm an XL which fit very nicely, unless of course I'm buying a shirt from the Andrew Christian store, in which case their XL is really like everyone else's medium, since he makes clothes to fit the little 'cutie patootie's that are in his ads.

I loved Sedgefields. I started wearing them because a friend did, and I really liked the feel. The only place that carried them was the local army surplus store. Still remember the number - 1-800-THE-EDGE. I did some googling and they shut down in the early 80's.

With Andrew Christian you can be in a bit of a guessing game at times. In their underwear t-shirts, I'm a small. But in their button up shirts, I'm a Large.

You can get into a large Andrew Christian? I'm jealous. I can barely squeeze into an XL. He has a store by my house, it is quite large and carries a nice line up of clothing, and of course his underwear. ;)

What's an "Andrew Christian"? I'm almost not kidding. The only reason I've heard of him is mainly because several people on the Forum have mentioned him or his models a few times. We full-figured guys don't really pay much attention to the fashion designers. I mean I've been wearing JC Penney's Stafford brand tighty -whiteys (although in my case they aren't too tight--which is a mercy for me and a blessing for any escort who is nice enough to see me) since I was in elementary school over 40 years ago. In case anyone was wondering--I've bought multiple new pairs over the years-I'm not still wearing the 40 year old ones.

I used to wear the tightest jeans

That didn't look too crass.

Sometimes a guy would follow me

And sex would come to pass.

I found a pair the other day

And thought it was a gas.

But when I slipped them on there was

No room to put my ass. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

He is a fashion designer that has made the gay community his target audience. Personally I love his clothes, and yes, one does have to be, shall we say, a bit more to the lean side. As I have aged, I have tried to look more fashionable, yet age appropriate, as my sister says. I think it is possible for one to achieve both.

I'm pretty much a schlump when it comes to fashion. I probably would be even if I had the lean physique like many of you.
