Has porn become boring?

Is it just me? Maybe there's just too much out there. Somehow it seemed more fun when it was harder to come by. Harder being the operative word. When I was much younger getting ahold of a muscle magazine was a really big deal. I just stumbled upon a website called vintagegaymen. What seems like thousands of old black & white photos going back to the early days of photography. Especially fun are those old military photos and studio shots of guys with their arms around each other. The guys just seem more real and all that hair before guys started manscaping.

I do not think that porn has become boring but it has become so "mainstream" (for lack of a better term). I remember the days (he 80's) when Falcon would release a new movie about every 4 to 5 months and Matt Sterling would release one once a year (Catalina was a little more frequent). The 90's brought a lot more porn companies but obviously when the 2000's hit and the internet the boon happened and porn companies were almost becoming internet "start up" companies with how they were popping up everywhere. And with more porn companies there were multitudes of more porn stars. It seemed that there are more porn stars these days than there are reality tv show stars.

I know what you mean. I used to have a stack of magazines and I could stack up five or so of my favorite layouts (not even hardcore - just hot naked masculine men) and work my way through them, or line up a favorite short fiction story or two. I'd buy a new video or two every month or so and could slowly get off on three or four of my favorite scenes.

 

Now there are several studios with entire movies full of my ideal guys. Twenty years ago some of these current Raging Stallion, Titan, or Machofucker titles would have blown my mind. Now they're so common and easy to come by. I still settle in with some standout scenes, but often I crave something different and striking that I've never seen before.

 

I can't imagine settling for still pictures anymore. I can watch twenty or more well-filmed scenes with outstanding guys and not get off until I find one where some chemistry or personality shows through.

+1...I love the variety and all the 'niche tastes' (as PB) mentions that are available. I recently indulged myself with an evenings worth 'bondage' tapes that I found unbelievably entertaining.

I'm not sure there really are "porn stars" any more. There are so many performers that I don't think there are any stars like the old days.

 

These days I enjoy chaturbate. Tons of hot twink-y boys all over the world showing off in the comfort of their own homes for free. I think it's better than cam4 these days, but I think it won't be long before the monetization wears it out. For a voyeur like me it is pretty awesome right now though. There are all sorts of shaped and sized folks on there so there are definitely people for almost everyone. Tons of big dicked Colombian boys. On the male cams though the 18-20 year olds float to the top of the listings for the most part so if you're into something else you might have to dig through a few pages.

Rereading my post I complain I guess about how porn is so available but seems boring because it's so easy to get. Then I post about a site with vintage porn I sure would have liked to see when I was younger. I think I should consider myself lucky I'm no longer that frustrated 13 year old kid itching to get my hands on that magazine. Still I miss that frustration/excitement. I think I'm just feeling old. So Happy New Year anyway. Hohoho

Just thought I'd mention that a while back I was visiting a 95 year old aunt. She pulled out a box of old photographs. In it was the photo you see next to foxy. It was one of her old boyfriends. No doubt he's long gone. But he's pretty hot. It's not porn but still very sexy.

+1 to this. Porn has always been far too stark for me. Once an "actor" is all out there for me to see, the magic is faded. There's something to be said about a well turned and covered ankle or wrist.
