Question about availability

I already posted this in the deli, so forgive me if this is repetitious. I had an escort flake on me, then tried to arrange an appt with escorts in the SF area who identified themselves as "available now". MY emails, texts and calls were professional and polite. Out of 7 attempts to arrange an appointment, not a single escort responded back. I tried again the next day, and same response.

 

MY suggestion would be to answer requests, even if you're not available. I hire escorts regularly and do positive reviews if the experience was satisfactory. If an escort really isn't available, he shouldn't indicate he is "available now". Needless to say, I won't contact these escorts again. I would understand if another appointment was made, or if things change.

i HAVE always PRACTICED PROFESSIONAL COURTESY...meaning that i return all inquiries the same day UNLESS i am booked for an overnight session. In those instances my phone is turned off and my ads are up but i am not logged in. Here is a the problem though from the young escorts' point of view. When u log in u r considered available now. The more visible your ad is then more guys will contact u for future dates. I'm sorry you had this experience, calrichmond, and I can appreciate your need to vent. However, you are likely preaching to the converted as any escorts active on this board probably already respond to customer enquiries in a timely fashion. I hope you have better luck in the future.

 

Presuming you're talking about Rentboy, the "available now" indicator will only show if the escort/masseur has specifically selected that they be shown as such for a 1 -4 hour slot. Simply being logged in will not show you as "available now." I just tested this. If you're talking about M4RN, advertisers are simply shown as either "online" or "offline," neither of which is a sure indication of their present availability.

I was thinking of the exact same thing before I got to your response! I think most if not all of the guys who post here are diligent with responses and would agree with you.

 

However as other clients mentioned in the other thread, different escorts will have different approaches to the online and available indicators. Some will turn the green light on and head to the gym, probably intending to indicate that they are available to schedule something later that day as opposed to right that minute. Other sites show availability simply by the escort logging in to check messages, so it can be misleading whether he's available or not. But definitely no excuse for not replying, even if it is "sorry not this time, hopefully another time."

 

For what it's worth, a masseur I see regularly tells me he gets swamped with appointment requests on weekends, particularly Saturdays and particularly when the weather is good. You'd think people would want to be out enjoying the good weather, but his theory is the weather makes people feel good, and then they think "I want to feel really good" and get a massage. So given that this past weekend was nice weather here, maybe the guys you tried got too many requests and couldn't keep up. Still no excuse, but maybe part of the explanation, who knows.

 

Another approach would be to contact some prospective escorts now, and ask them if they are ever often to accommodate last-minute requests. Some guys need lots of time ahead to schedule, others may be able to respond quickly especially if you've already corresponded and you've both gone through that vetting process. Then if you find you have an unexpected window of opportunity or horniness, the guy will know who you are and might be more able to make it work. I know if I get a last-minute request from a regular I'll be more inclined to rearrange things to make it work, as opposed to a guy I've never met before.

 

I realize that was probably what you did with your no-show guy so it's not fail-safe, but hopefully you'll have better luck with the next one.

I usually book a day in advance unless its a regular client and then it depends on where the client is located and whether it is possible. If I have to travel, then I book more than a day in advance.

I try to always be "online/available" so my profile is visible. If I get notification that someone has emailed me I will respond back as soon as humanly possible. Though I have run into cases where someone will message me at midnight or 1am requesting availability within the next hour and in those cases if I don't get the email in a timely fashion or I am busy with other things then I may not get back as timely as needed. In those cases I have my sms number listed and my suggestion for short notice appointments is for someone to text me then I am assured that I will get the message.
