I'll be happy to take something for Christmas Eve or the eve of Christmas eve's eve (which is today). I wish I could have better saved up and took the last half of December off. I keep forgetting that every year, to never ever ever try to work around the holidays.

 

People who don't work in retail sales, but work in other sales outside of auto and housing (lot of people like to close on homes for the new year) don't always see the splurge of sales like the stores do. We have to wait til January or the week between 25th and New Years. I'm sure I'm suffering no more than the people actually working retail (tried it once when I was 18, and quit 1 week into December) I mean, it hasn't been a bad December overall, but it's been a pretty shitty week before Christmas.

 

I actually had a client from LA last week, but that's all I've had. Matter of fact, I think everyone's dick is tucked in their ass because even my freebie fuck buddies are out of dodge. People almost cease being themselves around this time of year, and the ones who don't really see you seriously like that, go on the hide out. And when you don't have the ability to see your family when everyone else is, trying to get past the 25th is like life and death. I see my family randomly throughout the year so that's not the cause. It's the exhaustion of all your plan A to Z's.

 

I spent Thanksgiving all the way up til the 13th of this month with relatives in Florida, but I had already knew that my needing to return home would not allow me to make it back before the holidays with flights and all. Plus the fact that it's never a home run week the days leading up to. So I'm pretty much fucked, without actually being a bottom.

It's just meaningless chatter...but the point I was making is I am keeping an open availability over the holiday. However, the days leading up to the holiday have been pretty quiet overall, unlike the big name retail stores which see a splurge of customers around this time. But due to that, it also means that majority of people have spent through their would-be play money, so schedules can be pretty empty til after the 25th, in many cases after the New Year.

just a look at how i do biz here: I have NEVER raised my rates for a holiday or a special day. they are always the same. I second what Kennan said above. When i lived in New Orleans guys always would hesitate to call on Mardi Gras day because they incorrectly assumed my rates would be higher or that i would be booked full. I can't see why people would want to double their rates, when the majority can't even afford half the rate around this time of year lol.

 

And yes, big holidays are usually pretty dead. I find you can either get a nice, big appointment opportunity, or you may have to weather the storm so to speak. I recall even on events like gay pride, it's extremely dead...and you'd think it would be a good time.
