these are not issues specific to you my friend. these things happen a lot and youve got to learn to just let things go and move on. plenty of fish out there, but you can't keep your pole in the water when you're here looking for shoulders to cry on

In a perfect world, I would be able to plan my horniness well in advance (say a few days to a week ahead of time), contact the choice of escort that suits me and set up the appointment.

 

Reality is that these days many guys do not want to commit so far ahead (or cannot), and so the pool from which you can select is also limited. Other times, I suddenly find I have some extra $$$ in the wallet, am in a nice hotel room, and have a few hours free and AM horny. I check out my go-to sites, first Rent Men, and then Rent Boy. On the former I check who is "on line" and "seeking to be hired" and on the latter I check the "Warboard" -- and general it is then a toss of the dice. I prefer exchanging a text message first - to make sure the guy is even available and then in the area or within reaching my place in a reasonable time.

 

This is where problems begin. I have found guys with their ads "lit up green" (meaning AVAILABLE) when really they are in a gym somewhere working out - which means they have to go home, shower, prepare and then come to you - from 60-90 minutes later, if at all. Others are not really AVAILABLE but out with friends and having dinner (and I like to hire bottoms so... that rules most out if they are just eating a dinner).

 

Still others have the light on but are not either at their computer or doing other things and so really not available. And then there are the cock-teases who have lights on, ad up, available announced and are not about to answer you unless you are "their type."

 

All in all, one can waste a LOT of time hiring. I do like M4RN for the reason that you can place an ad and see who of the escorts responds to you, but again, it is a roll of the dice.

As far as Rentboy there are those "Working Guys" who do mention in their ADS try Contacting them other than thru Rentboy which can be very slow at best!

I think the larger problem is the number of FAKE ads online. If there were a decent amount of "actual" escorts with their "actual" pictures posted in their ads, then finding a back up wouldn't be a major headache. If prostitution were legal, it would be a booming industry which would prevent the flakes that you experienced.

Rentboy has the Warboard which basically displays the Available Now Escorts - which basically means they are logged into Rentboy, which they can do from smartphones while at a bar, or their computers. I was with an escort once who was logged in and available now while I was poking him in the butthole.

I think you should post the name of the escort and move on. Don't worry about "attacks". Let it roll off you like water off a duck's back.

 

Don't overly obsess with your recent bad luck with escorts. Focus your attention on something else and the "butterfly" will come and sit softly on your shoulder when you least expect it.

Two quick comments...

 

In the days of Maximum Escorts in NYC that agency was my plan B and co-owner Stephen never failed to supply an alternative. Maximum is indeed missed. In an ideal world and with any luck Stephen has been able to get to the MET more frequently since the agency closed. I hope he is doing well.

 

Also, I think that the OP has made a decision not to name the escort and probably wisely so. Though I am sure that there are both some clients and fellow escorts who are chomping at the bit to find out who this well reviewed individual indeed is. Such "drama" is not at all necessary...

The "warboard" is part of the left side menu on Rentboy. Once you enter a country and city, you press the "warboard" button and up pop the ads for escorts who have the green light on (eg are available and looking).

yeah, all it is, is a click of a button. The internet/cell phones allows us to move around and do other things, rather than waiting around in a brothel waiting for a client to show, some which never do anyway even when the green light is on.

Not to mention, we're in an era where we have more quantity over quality. I mean come on. Let's be realistic here. Do you really think that in a city with 40, 50, 100, 200 and 400 escorts...that you won't be sifting thru needles in a ballsack? You have a lot of people just popping up left and right all over. I've even heard from some escorts that being an escort now isn't much better than working the typical minimum wage job...because of the many, many people popping up almost daily.

 

Myself, I've had escorts contact me...or meet out in public at bars or whatever. I feel for the clients who run into these issues. Escorts can be flaky as hell. I'll be the first to admit. I've met 3 or 4 guys in my area...many haven't been around as long as I have, and they are so fucking full of shit. One used to be escort said to me, "Don't date that guy. He's no good. I know some boys that will be right for you, I'll get them." And yet another said, "Let's go out for coffee/lunch sometime". Never happened.

 

However, I do find some of the older escorts (40s and up) tend to answer the phone, return phone calls, be polite, and aren't full of crap. Like the former Ace Banner or current Chris Eisenhower. I know I'm 26 myself, but...if I were to ever hire myself, I'd hire me when I turned 40 lol. Maybe that's what I need to do. Retire for the next 15 years, and come back when I'm 40 lol...

* Rentboy should have used the words Logged in within last 4 hours instead of the words Available now for whatever they're doing now because it really is not available now

* I wish they did have a real available now function where if an advertiser doesn't respond within an hour, he will lose the ability to specify he's available now. Maybe for a week at first, and then permanently if an advertiser keeps saying he's available now when he's not.

That indicator is meaningless. As Kevin Slater pointed out, simply checking Rentboy using a smart phone can trigger the "actively looking indicator."
