I'm a huge fan of TJ's and sure hope he is healthy and well. However, I'm concerned because his posts on his Facebook fan page on December 4th and 5th (about the time this latest "porn performer" tested hiv positive) indicate he's had flu-like symptoms and that he feels like "life is fucking with" him.

Once again this brings up the issue from Year's ago that the "Women of Porn" should not be made to do scenes with Guys who have done Gay Scenes no matter how long ago. Because the odds are some of these ALLEGED Str8's are giving it up to guys off screen anyway!

ok i read the nbc report above: so , "CONDOM RASH???" Really??? I have been fucking alot of years and have done alot of LONG scenes and sessions with men and women and i have had such a thing...seen such a thing or even heard of such a thing. There was a recent interview with a female porn star on the topic of the condom requirement in porn. She brought up the same concern about condoms, stating that water-based lube is shed from latex condoms and that the long hours of filming penetration scenes lead to abrasions that she doesn't encounter during condom-free scenes. Her point was that it isn't a simple matter of requiring condoms. She pointed out too that particularly during long shoots the guys will fuck more aggressively in condoms in order to stay erect, and that this can lead to more abrasions. It's not a scientific observation with data to back it up, but she and others in the industry believe that fucking for hours at a time on set with condoms creates these abrasions and open wounds that give way to more opportunities for exchange of bodily fluids.

 

We all know, however, that safe sex requires real diligence around handling condoms, as well as safe behavior for cleaning up and post-sexual contact. How many porn scenes have you watched where the top pulls off the condom for the money shot and then slaps his dick in the pool of cum on a bottom's well-worn ass? If the mentality is still focused primarily on making sure the scene looks as hot as it can they're going to miss some steps in safe sex protocol, and the condom doesn't reduce risk as much as it could. Condom legislation isn't necessarily safe sex legislation. Rebuttals about condom rash and other similar points don't really address the industry taking responsibility for itself. The law isn't going to be able to mandate having "lube coordinators" on set, or periodic structural integrity checks of a performer's sensitive tissues...
