Sorry for those who may have seen this similar post previously and this might be better in ask an escort or

discuss escorts but this thread seems to get more current response. My question is if an escort doesn't

travel, why do they say they do?? Over thanksgiving I decided to give myself a treat and maybe do some

stuffing on the side, I know not funny, but thought, OK I won't scrimp on the money (I normally don't

anyway). So, I inquired in upstate NY about some nice escorts that were within hour or two from my

area who said "travel, us" but then I get a response, oh you're too far. I was ready to pay for their time,

and made that clear. Some even said international travel, well 60 miles away isn't international travel.

Is there something I'm missing. Yes, I could have traveled to them but I prefer visitors at my place

when I'm not traveling. I look forward to any of your thoughts..thanks.

Maybe they meant, but didn't say, you were too far to travel to around the holiday (even though to most of us 60 miles isn't too far)? If you checked with them now that the holiday is past maybe they'd be up for it. Sometimes I wonder if many escorts get so many emails they are too brief in their responses and leave out what then intended to say.

For me, 60 miles is within that sweet spot that makes travel difficult. A couple of miles and I'll bear the risk. 500+ miles involves a plane ticket that the client pays for ahead of time, so I'm somewhat assured he's legit and motivated to see this through. 60 miles is what, a bus or commuter train? It's silly to ask him to forward bus fare ahead of time, and even if he were to, he's out what, $30 if he decides that day not to be available, change his mind, fake an emergency, or what have you.

I'm sure you are sincere and honorable in your dealings, but the random voice on the other end of the phone... less so. I'm not trying to be callous or overly businesslike, but to give you one possible explanation of the other side of the equation, and to suggest some hurdles you may want to overcome if you still want this to happen. Perhaps prepay part of his fee (granted, risky from your perspective), send a car, or find some other way to mitigate his concerns.

Lastly, buses and trains work both directions. Why not, for the first meeting, go see him and establish your bona fides? I suspect that he'd be thrilled to go up to you on future occasions.

Just trying to provide some food for thought.

Kevin, very helpful and thank you. I guess some frustration is I'm usually not asked, "well yes

I could travel 60 miles but would need some type of advance/assurance/transporation. There

are some, that looked very hot, that I might send a car to when I'm feeling ready..

Perfect answer, Kevin. I think that both from the client's and escort's perspective, it's best to do a local one-hour hire first. Once some chemistry and trust is established, travel is wiser. I can really understand why an escort would feel uncomfortable for this distance--that is, when the client hasn't had to shell out for a plane ticket.

i think if you upfront offered car service to and from to meet you upstate, it's no problem. I find that in nyc, it's hard to feel motivated to leave the island as i've turned down friend's offers for dinners in Harlem or even Long Island. I'm not a manhattan-centric snob but am often tired after work or on weekends and can't be bothered to navigate the trains or schedules. I've even had car service take me up to Lincoln Center when i feel lousy and tired but am obligated to attend the opera with a friend. Too lazy to even ride the MTA... yeah, first world problem.
