Well, I like Gareth, started hiring in 2002 and was a virgin as far as man-to-man sex was concerned. Since I save a photo of almost everyone I hire, I was able to count the guys I've hired (escorts and erotic masseurs combined). I counted 156 different men. Given that I know I've hired a few guys for whom I had no photos (my first hire was nearly 20 years ago with a guy who advertised in the Bay Area Reporter), I'd say my number is around 175. I probably hired the majority of those guys during the very late '90s and first half of the '00s. I still occasionally hire, but not nearly as frequently as before.

At 233 different escorts over 30 years you've averaged about 7.66 different escorts a year. Did you fill in the rest of your time with "regulars" or free tail? How many "regulars" have you had. With a number like 233, "only a few" could easily equal 10 or 15 (4% or 6% of the total).

 

Also, is it that you prefer variety over regularity? Is that why you've tended to see different escorts more over repeats with regular escorts? I'm sure we all see escorts for a large variety of reasons, and for some (many?) I'm sure that the issue of variety in guys is an important factor.

A man after my own heart. Quality is very important to me, too. I do enjoy variety as well, and I'm always "on the prowl" for someone new. But, I too prefer going back to high quality guys.

Good for you!!!!!! Like me, you find guys you like and you want "to keep going back for more." That's my preference. I've spread a little more afield, myself, however I find that I do keep going back to the same guys. For instance, one of my "most favored fellows" I've seen 7 times this year. That degree of frequency is about as high as I can afford (in terms of dollars, travel expenses, and time). For me, it's time and money very well spent.

 

By comparison, I've seen 6 new escorts in 2013 ... and, yes, I've reviewed them all (though one of those reviews is pending). AND, I've got a 7th new escort scheduled to meet in December. Almost all of my photos came from online sources. I have a few guys who let me take additional photos of them for my own collection, and I have a few guys for whom I scanned photos from their print ads in the BAR. When I was hiring the most, I saw one guy (Steven Kesslar) nearly every month. There have only been a few other guys who became regulars for me. Well, at the risk of this being moved go fhe arts forum, inquiring minds would be interested to know which recording?? I am partial to the ancient Leinsdorf recording with Siepi and Corena because it was my first. I also own the controversial Bonynge version because it is so different from most others in that some arias are embellished and it has a mezzo Zerlina. I really would like to get a "modern" original instrument performance as well.

There were eighteen I saw twice (including two couples), five I saw three times, one I saw four times, two I saw five times, and one I saw eight times over seven years. I hired more in the early years, then tailed off considerably as time went by, sometimes hiring only once or twice per year, and not at all in the past few years.

 

During the early years, before AIDS, I was also having a lot of free sex. I hired mainly because it was easier to get what I wanted whenever I was horny--which was often. As I aged, I simply lost interest in the effort of finding sex partners, then in the effort of having sex altogether. I rarely hired someone more than once or twice, because I do like variety and novelty, and I usually found that by the second meeting, everything was too predictable, and I quickly lost interest. I wasn't looking for an emotional relationship, only erotic stimulation; I think many men hire escorts and stick with a regular because they are looking for an emotional bond, or because they want the predictability of the experience.
