London: An Australian woman who turned down a marriage proposal was stunned when her well-to-do suitor handed a bill of over 115,000 pounds ($184,000) for everything he claims to have spent on her.

Single mother Marie Lacombe, 42, from Melbourne, says she and 65-year-old Bruce Dusting were never romantically involved, Daily Mail reported Thursday.

But it seems he felt differently about their relationship, claiming she led him on to extract money from him to fund Zumba classes, shopping trips and even cosmetic surgery.

"This Marie has just destroyed every thought of humanity that I've had for other people," a tearful Dusting said.

Lacombe had met Dusting four years ago when she began teaching him dance. They turned good friends, with Dusting taking her for dinner and visiting her home regularly.

But things between them turned sour when he asked for her hand in marriage - and she turned down the proposal. Now he has handed her an itemised bill outlining every single penny he ever gave her or spent on her behalf.

They sound perfect for one another, so they should just get back together. She apparently has no trouble taking stuff from someone under false pretenses (there's no way someone would pay for all of those things without strings attached), and he's stupid enough to keep spending money on someone who had made no commitment to him.

Of course, the reality is that his submission of a bill to her is pretty ludicrous. Maybe a TV judge like Judge Judy would feel sympathy for him and award him the small claims court maximum, but unless he actually has signed agreements with this woman that she was going to pay him back then I doubt he has a legal leg to stand on.

I applaud this answer!

Oh now, Fluffy, you're much to classy for that.

Alternatively, might I suggest that you keep track of all these "expenses" and maybe you can take them as a tax deduction - a necessary business expense perhaps?!

I wonder what the IRS will think of my full time groomer.

I'd prefer to wait 10-20 years before I think about your groomer... in fact, I think the state of New York would provide me free room and board if I start before then...LOL!
