Has anyone ever had any trouble over whether an in-call or an out-call rate applied? I'm interested to hear if that's been a problem for any of you and, also, to get your take on this scenario: Let's say a guy advertises in one location all of the time and in another location some of the time. (One is his usual home base; the other is a city he visits semi-regularly). You're going to see him in the alternate city on a date he's told you he can be there and at the hotel he's chosen to stay in. So that's an in-call ... isn't it?

I post cities under my travel cities up too about two hours away that I'm willing to travel to outside of my home city. Should someone from one of those cities contact me I explain that the rate stays the same for outcall/incall since I use the same rate for both but travel is added on to either cover the cost of train, bus, gas, etc.... Most clients haven't had an issue with this, in fact this has led to some clients requesting an overnight rather than just an hour or two.

If you host and the escort travels to your home, your hotel, your favorite spot in the woods - then it is an outcall. If you travel to the escorts home or hotel, then its an in-call.

Yet there are a few who charge more for an incall than an outcall. I always wondered why.
The first time I encountered such a situation I thought that it was a typo in the guy's ad. However, it was deliberate as he wanted to minimize any activity going on at his apartment complex. Hence the lower rate for the outcall. We therefore met at my hotel. Incalls were reserved usually for those who could not host the escort at their place for a variety of reasons.

I find it interesting to note that many escorts charge less for an incall than an outcall. Yet there are a few who charge more for an incall than an outcall. I always wondered why.

This often occurs when the escort builds the price of renting a hotel room or renting an alternate location (like a friends apartment or a spare room) or when extra expenses and preparation are involved in hosting at their place (i.e. they have to pay off their room mate(s) to leave the home for a while).

YOU're coming into his space; he doesn't have to pay taxi fare or do some other things which are associated with an "out" visit! I've been seeing one of the hottest Asian guys [8UC with lots of overhang] in San Francisco, Bill/Billae @ both http://www.rentmen.com and http://www.rentboy.com for much of 2013. During the last two times that we have played, I'm seen him at his apartment. He charges less because perhaps it takes less preparation for meeting. I do know what thing which I find strange: Bill has different rates at the two sites which have his ads. I use the site which has the lower fee.

We've clicked, enjoying each other's company immensely, and the reviews here have been mostly provided by me. Bill and I discussed this last week! It has puzzled him, too, why other clients have failed to write reviews, promoting his expertise and the fun that they'd had with this youngish man!!!! [...sorry to have digressed!]

The hypothetical I posed (as the OP) is a real scenario, but no dispute over the rate had occurred. I always thought of it as an in-call, but then I started second-guessing myself (practically my OTHER hobby) ... the gentleman is traveling from his usual home base and getting a hotel in the secondary city in which he advertises (about 100 miles away). He is coming there on a date that I proposed and (of course) he isn't telling me if he has other reasons to be there. So it's not like he's on a regularly scheduled tour and had pre-planned to be in this location for a few days. I hadn't encountered a circumstance quite like this one before. But I did ask for clarification this morning and he has confirmed (with no pressure from me) that he too regards it as an in-call.

one of the first biz choices i made years ago was to have the SAME hourly rate for in call as out call so as to avoid any confusion.

I can understand the reasons guys charge more for an out-call, but kudos on the underlying idea of keeping things SIMPLE and CLEAR. You have to wonder how many guys don't get called just because their ads (pricing AND other aspects) are too confusing or obscure.

Some time ago I started getting the question "Where did you see my ad" as the first question from the escort. I thought maybe they were doing some marketing to see which of their ads is most effective. I then discovered what you have mentioned in that some escorts are advertising with a premium rate on Rentboy and a much lower rate on some of the other sites such as backpage or A4A. So whenever I find someone on Rentboy I like, I crosscheck the number against the other sites and have found the rates to differ by as much as $100 per hour.
