I recently hired a guy from Rentboy for an escort session and it came out during the session that his day job was an interior decorator. I happen to need an interior decorator (he tactfully asked if my new-to-me condo had come furnished - yes it did). We talked a bit about what I could do with it and he mentioned that he would be interested in the job. I am thinking of pursuing this with him. I would only actually hire him if I thought his work would be a good fit for me and was fairly priced - basically the same criteria as for anyone else.

Has anybody had any experience with hiring an escort for their day work? Any potential pitfalls to consider?

thanks, Bill

I had a personal trainer who I first met as an escort and I had an ongoing relationship with him in both professions and he utilized my professional services as well.

I also have an ongoing professional relationship with an escort who is a lawyer, though I have not used his services, I have utilized the services of associates he recommended and at his recommendation, I was hired as an expert witness by one of his former partners. This last bit of business became a bit entangled when his former partner did not fully compensate me at the agreed rate. The escort did intervene, though I told him that it was not necessary to do so. Since his intervention did not resolve the issue, I handled the rest of the negotiations myself, This was mostly to avoid further involving the escort in what was a brief but uncomfortable interaction.

I say, do an in call with the escort and if you like his decor hire him if other factors are equal Even if his decor is not your taste, you will probably get a good idea of his talent by witnessing his style in his own home.

OMG - what has happened to 'GAY' culture and fabulous style when a homosexual has to go out and hire a decorator for a condo transformation ... this is beginning to sound like a pilot for a new HGTV series ??? Homos Hiring Homos For Home Makeovers ... pan to bedroom ... decorator in bed with tent pole - do you like what you see ???

As the camera fades to commercial - all you hear is the slapping of balls against butt !!!

+2... but I do know a few guys who have engaged escorts for their other talents and expertise. Two cases where physicians did some part time escorting on the side, and some of their patients also became customers. I guess that way the examinations could be very thorough !!

I don't have a problem working in a different business relationship with an escort. I have done some graphics work for one escort in support of his other career. It was a good relationship. I did his graphics projects. He did me. We had an established rate for me and for him. Money didn't change hands but accounts were kept up-to-date. It was just easier that way.

+1 - same as the maxim to AVOID business deals with relatives.

Ain't that the truth. That said, I think that fear or established roles keep both client and escort from having some memorable experiences together. I recently had dinner with a client and discussed his career. He's someone at the top of his profession (and when I say "top" I mean the absolute top). I was in awe and it's a dinner and conversation I won't forget.

People escort for reasons other than money. Even so, some lawyers and physicans can use the extra money, especially young ones with large school loans to pay. In fact, I was thinking of opening a clinic for Check Ups and Blow Jobs. Was going to call it Physical Physicals and have the doctor escort wear nothing under his white coat.

I suppose you could have an escort lawyers office: Nothing but Briefs. The lawyer wears only a Windsor knotted tie and a nice set of briefs.

What? Lawyers and physicians are moonlighting as escort? I thought those people are loaded already.

I hired an escort a couple of times many years back who supposedly was a lawyer. I saw his law school diploma, so I at least know he graduated law school. I don't know if he passed the bar. He lied like crazy about his age and posted the same picture for many years (like over 10) after I last say him. I think he finally retired.

I believe the "dishonest attorney" stereotype is somewhat rooted in reality.

Although I've met some dishonest types in my profession, the vast majority of lawyers I know are scrupulous about honesty and ethics.

I applaud your coming to the defense of what may be the most misunderstood group of professionals. As most people, I, myself, keep forgetting that the law has nothing to do with either justice or fairness...but only with the law. In far too many instances - at least in my personal experience - the law does not redress the problem equitably but is based on often archaic laws written to appease some group or other. The law is the law and that is what lawyers must adhere to. Their reputation is, again imho, based on how often justice is not actually a part of the equation. The layman can only blame the lawyers when legal decisions are not concurrent with their belief as to what it should be.

Law degrees do not pay like they used to. Unless you are in the upper part of your class in a top-rated school, you are NOT likely to recoup the tuition investment. This has been true for at least ten years. So it's not surprising to me that some lawyers escort. Doctors are another matter but some specialties do not pay particularly well.

great thread. First of all I must say that the idea of an actual practicing attorney or physcian escorting is borderline out there. I would think the risk to their practice of getting caught would be a total deal breaker..... too much risk for not alot of reward comparably? No?? Secondly I LOVE lawyers and I find them to be my most interesting clients. Also I have fucked enough doctors in my long career to have gaine an honorary MD! lol! They open up with me and discuss things that I doubt they tell anyone else like losing a patient on the table and how horrible that is. As far as the original OP is concerned I do have this to add and i am sorry but it is NEGATIVE. When I had my landscape company in NOLA with my ex-partner I tried astutely to keep Mikey Inc. seperated from my day company. But nola being the wild, wild west small town that it is post Katrina that became impossible. Alot of Nola gay men decided they wanted Mikey to do their balconies and/or courtyards. Needless to say it was a mess. In my opinion crossing the streams means no pure stream at all. I would be black with dirt and covered in sweat and the client would sudenly hand me a beer and tell me he wanted an escort session. This literally drove my ex crazy. One of my garden clients who was also a Mikey client had a nervous breakdown over it as he fell head over heels in love with me. Another issue was that when my escort clients knew of my day company if the escort relationship went south they tried to mess up my day job. I had a client break out cocaine so I cut him off (I wont be around that shit!!) so he threatened to tell the nola royalty (our garden clients) that their super cute gardener was also a rentboy and a damned good one. So , needless to say, I no longer have a day job and I like being avail 24/7 to see my escort clients. http://www.rentboy.com/magicmikey or http://www.rentmen.com/mikeyusatop
