The owner who used to post here always touted how it wouldn't keep up expired ads as M4RN does, but I find expired ads on the site quite frequently. There aren't as many as on M4RN, but there aren't as many total escort ads on the site either. In fact a few months ago, one of the guys that was the escort of the week had an expired ad. I informed them-major faux pas. They then reactivated the ad:p

Absolutely agree with you Decatur. I know Mike from Rentmen and he's very client-centric, something those behind Rentboy are not. Rentmen is a dream to navigate, and clients can create profiles by which escorts can search -- really helps to connect the right escort with the right client as far as sexual compatibility goes. That users can post videos is a great feature as well. However, I am not a fan of the new interview feature. In today's digital, information-overload world, reading online has little appeal -- something I am mindful of in my own business. Videos do best in an image-soundbite driven media format like the Web. The new Q & A interviews are a spin-off of Mike's escort-video interviews, which have been offered on the site since it launched. Unfortunately, not every escort can get into NYC, nor can Rentmen personnel visit every escort, in order to film the interview. I think the intentions behind the new interviews are solid, but again, I confess I am now one of the countless Internet-induced, attention-deficit-browsers, and won't even bother with an escort ad that is text-heavy. Still, Rentmen is by far the best site as far as navigation, features, interactivity, customer service, etc. Like you, I am mystified it has not caught on in a bigger way. Mike did mention that the site has surpassed men4rentnow as far as traffic-related statistics, etc. So maybe more time is needed for the site to surpass Rentboy as the site of choice. Rentboy certainly pulls in the ads, but based on my interaction with them via e-mail, concerning various matters like technical failures, the site's staff doesn't seem to give a sh*t about the client experience. But then again, for now at least, Rentboy is a necessary evil, so to speak.

I prefer much more RENTMEN over RENTBOY and M4RN for seeking sufficient information about an escort. The photos are better generally, the description is more complete, and special features such as videos and now the interviews give an escort a great chance to put himself out there for clients.

 

Mike the webmaster is very responsive to both clients and escorts, interested in keeping both sides engaged and on top - or on bottom ;-)) . I have been a devotee of this site since it first appeared and while they might not have the wide selections of the other two, I find them much more reliable and user friendly. I also like the way you can tell more readily who is "on line" or who is "looking to hire" or "ready to be hired" etc... (Yeah yeah, I know about the War Board on Rentboy but find it a mess to be honest). The BEST feature of Rentmen is that escorts can see who is looking into them and can reach out - so for shy clients, an added extra.

I've sung the praises of Rentmen in other threads, and will continue here. I think it's the best escort website out there. Like DG, I don't know why it isn't more popular with advertising escorts, unless there is a perception that it isn't well known enough to the hiring guys.? I don't know.

It's a matter of selection. Detroit's typically got 25-30 guys on M4RN, 8-12 on Rentboy, and 3-4 on Rentmen. I like the web design but selection's by far the biggest factor. I end up checking Rentmen maybe once a week.

as the OP a point of clarification in my original post. When I travel on tour in LARGER markets the response from rentmen is good. It is in the SMALLER markets such as new orleans or my home area of sw Florida where the potential clients simply DONT KNOW the site exists. I have always stressed smaller underserved markets. In those areas for whatever reason (and i cannot explain it) men4rentnow is kick ass successful. It totally baffles me as to why.

Two weeks ago I rejoined RentMen after having an unsuccessful try 6 or so years ago. And in those two weeks I have not received one request for information or an appointment from that site, and yes I've checked my spam folder. RentMen just does not get the traffic the others do. It might not be logical, but that's the case.

I don't really get involved in politics (but it's hard not to in this day and age)...but I started out in 2008 before the election. Things were effortless that year, but then got worse toward the end. But it got better for awhile a few months after the election...but up until this re-election seems like everything has gone to hell in a handbasket industry-wise. It makes sense that the majority 15% are likely to be republican.

 

And talk about broke, just look at craigslists. I'll be the 1st to admit that once in awhile I'll go and post links to my ads and get some luck. But today, I go and see 5 different or so ads within the last couple hours saying:

Sure the vehicle for making contacts has moved to social media in the last 5-7 years, but this has gone on forever. Is your next suggestion going to be that CL, GRINDR, and the like be shut down so that people are left with no other option but to call you as a very last resort?

You're twisting my words around, and thus missing the point. I know people have been having free sex since gay was created. I did it for years and STILL do it (although not quite 40 yet lol)

 

I was making a response to Mikey's comment. And the point I was making was, it's not so much that there's not a desire or demand going on. But rather, people are expecting to get something for nothing. Hell, these people aren't looking for Black boyfriends. This was not meant to be an argument. I did it as AN EXPERIMENT. (Of course, if they did pay, great). I didn't tell them anything about them paying me first of all. I gave them my stats, sent a couple pics, and asked if they would be interested in the same thing, but from a hired entertainer. Hell, if you're asking a guy to come to your hotel and drop his pants, or you saying you want to just suck someone off...you're soliciting prosititutes.
