Just curious as to what escorts/masseurs are making each month. I know there are a lot of respective factors such as location, # of hours worked, etc. I'm a masseur and make about $3-4k a month.

I have a question for you...a couple actually. How much do you charge an hour, and do you think anyone is going to give accurate info here?

It shouldn't surprise us that most guys wouldn't want to share that information on here. If its fair to assume a guy does an average of two overnights a week at 1,000 each that's 104,000 a year before taxes. Not taking into account any hourly sessions, weekends or weeks. Many would think that's not a bad income for the period of time the lifestyle is of interest to them.

Sorry if it came about as rude or disrespectful. I guess with a one-post history, it looks like I was just trolling or whatever. I was just curious because I thought about raising my prices for massages but then I realized that many people who charge more also do more (ie. escort). I'm a full time nurse in an ER so the extra money I make from massages ($100/hr, ~3-4k month) which is great as it covers my expenses and loan payments.

if $3-4K/month is "extra money", that's fantastic....good for you!.....if business is steady and reliable, I certainly wouldn't start charging more....

I would assume [an escort's income is] all "tax free".

That would be a pretty dangerous thing for a full-time escort who lives solely off of those earnings. There's been a fair amount written about escorts and the importance of paying taxes, so it's an easy subject to Google if you want more insight into it. My own guess is that it's more likely that most full-time escorts (certainly those with good business sense) are filing as self-employed and listing an occupation such as "consultant" or "event manager" or some other gloss for the reality of what they do. The IRS cares less about what THEY DO than about collecting ITS DUE.

Whoa. That's 1 hell of an assumption. This ain't the roaring 20's baby. Maybe before a4a, bathhouses and GPS-enabled hookup sites took over the world as we know it. Not to mention the economy having gone straight to hell and back, and the double and triple number of escorts currently available since the time I started. For example, Dallas used to have no more than 20 guys on rentboy when I started. Look at it now...That's basically double the lack of income one could be making.

Joey--that was probably around 2007 in Dallas? That was a down period in Dallas. Prior to that Dallas had more escorts--but they weren't all on Rentboy. There were numerous other sites that are now defunct such as Eros Guides, Studfiles, American Male Escorts, Escorts4you.com

Strangely enough--even with the 47 currently showing in Dallas there are only about 3 athletically muscular to muscular versatile/bottom guys who like to kiss. And if you only want guy who list safe play there are even less. What I wouldn't give to have the guys who were advertising in Dallas 11 years ago still advertising.

I always think it is bad form to ask someone how much they make. Second, equally bad form to assume people should be making a certain amount because their list billable rates. To think gentlemen avg 2 overnights a week is ridiculous. A much better sampling of what the usual is, the length of time listed in reviews. almost all are 1 hour, occassionally multiple and if we see an overnight review a week that is probably a push.

I will readily admit as I get to know gentlemen I ask how is business going and what are their plans. Some of it is out of curiosity but part of it is my background and another part is I find the whole business side of being a professional gentleman interesting. I think a good portion of men I am fortunate to meet due have financial goals and are investing in the future and not living appointment to appointment.

So maybe a far better question would have been and not unreasonable, how many have established a financial plan and use an outside provider? And/or how many gentlemen feel they are on track to acheiving success or their goals from being in this profession?

As I get to know some of the gentlemen I feel a need to help or discuss some of their goals financially. If the gentleman is providing a good service and has the physical tools there is the potential for some quick wealth and I think there are some that are unprepared to handle that. I bite my tongue at times when I am doing an overnight which usually involves my leaving for a signficant period of time and return to find that despite the "hard luck" discussed earlier, after receiving the 50% down as i usually do, they have gone on a spending spree, clothing and electronics. I say nothing as their money and do as they wish. Then seeing them trying to figure out how they will get this back on the plane and more than likely being one of those types of people who try to carry multiple carry on bags onto a plane. But as to rehiring I do take that into consideration.

What one person thinks is an acceptable level of earning may not be for another.
