You are right, it is a site for "non-commercial" hook-ups. However, various professionals like masseurs, escorts, therapists, photographers etc. can put an ad up in the "PROS" section of each city. I believe they have to pay to post a pro ad.. but they are there. The pro ads can also be seen in the general population of each location. I'm sure there are escorts here that have done it, so they would be more knowledgeable about the mechanics.

I would feel bad only if that was the only site they used. It's a relief if it was down, but now that it's back up I cringe at the thought of forcing myself to suffer angst by reading all the countless, pointless emails.

 

One can meet some pretty good clients from there...My 1st client in DC was from adam, a member from here I met also participates on adam, and many of the guys who have hired from there have been quite attractive, some VERY. But it's like a couple times a month, maybe more if you travel. You'll waste hours bullshitting with people. I can deal with backpage, but adam is just pure torture. It's a necessary evil, sorta in the same way hotels choose to utilize 3rd party billing sites to find their customers. Except atleast on those sites people are actually looking to pay for hotels. Those jokers on adam aren't looking to pay for shit, yet they want to bug you, ask your rate, and tell you they met someone who will do it for free. Well then why the FUCK would you bother? It's great for adam to offer the section, but $30 a month is too much to deal with the bullshit.

That's exactly right, I have the same impression. Some of the escorts there are just plain rude from the get go. I understand that there may be a lot of BS going on, but then if you can't handle that as an escort, don't post a profile there. It's that simple. Nobody is forcing you to do it.

For my area, I see the same pattern - a majority of the guys are black tops, traveling through, and the only other place I see them is on backpage.com.

On the playing field, I can tolerate the BS...which is why I choose to put an ad up occasionally. I generally know which profiles/messages are worth responding to or not. I've also been making it clear that if they don't have a pic, or don't have theirs unlocked upon messaging me...I will no longer respond. It's different when clients from rb/rm/m4r don't have pics, than when someone there doesn't.

 

But, as a whole...I feel the site does not make one feel professional. Simply because, you don't generally get treated like one there. Again, not everyone...but majority. And if you look at a rentboy ad that is $30/month versus an adam that's the same price...escorts are going to expect better. That's part of the reason too I've gone ahead and re-created another website for myself because I've been feeling I need to re-establish that level of professionalism.
