Well I will certainly take your word for what is in that Act. All I have around here are medical and management books. I trust your research. So based on the Departments legal birth, I stand corrected. Thank you.

 

However their website can be a bit confusing on the name and seems to use both quite interchangably. At least if we are both looking at http://www.mpdc.org/frame.htm .

 

On that site most of the headings, banners and publication names refer to MPDC. But there are also plenty of references to MPD. In the interest of clear communication I still think DC should be somewhere in there. The Acronym Finder database returns one hit for MPDC but 28 for MPD. 5 of the 28 are police departments.

Why in the world would you think people hate you? Hate is a strong word and a stronger emotion. I certainly don't hate you. I have enjoyed many of your posts and have learned a few things from them as well. While I personally may think some of your factual corrections are a bit picky (spelled anal) and add little of value to the discussion there is nothing wrong with your posting them. However adding a little zinger aimed at the person making the error, typo, whatever, shows a lack of civility which reflects more on you than your factual knowledge.

 

In the thread on Constitutional Amendments I believe you stated that the 26th was the last ratified amendment. You were wrong and were politely corrected. You responded with an apology and a thank you for the correction. How would you have felt if the person pointing out your error had said something like......

 

Jeez, I can't believe that you are a Political Science major and got an A in Constitutional Law and yet didn't know there are 27 Amendments. How can we lend you any credibility?

 

I would have found that response inappropriate as well. I thanked you before for your info on the amendments and I'm sure I'll thank you again for knowledge given in the future. But if I or others make a mistake, don't be condescending or insulting in your corrections.

Just something I have noticed over the past month or so...and if thats true is HOO ever going to set me free or will I be 13 forever ;-) I have said it several times I would prefer to be 21 (again)..LOL
