Moderators role???

It appears that a perfectly innocent and warranted posting by moi, has been yanked off this site. I was asking if anyone had any info on Daulton of Vancouver. Unfortunately I made a typo and could not change it so I asked the moderator to either change it for me or to tell me how I could do this. This seemed a perfectly legitimate request as they are editing our stuff all the time. HooBoy even told me once they do spell checking on submissions to further my arguement that my typo could have been fixed. Instead they posted my message to them, which really pissed me off. Now they have yanked it all off.

There was nothing inappropriate at all in my comments. They have chosen this route rather than to simply fix a small problem I made. And most importantly they have done this without sending me a message which would have been simply courtesy.

I used to think this was the greatest site since sliced bologna came on the market. And I have supported it with many contributions since last fall. But this whole eposide has me feeling done in. These moderators have the attitude of American Airlines staff, or even worse Air Canada staff. I am not impressed at their customer service at all, and this was after I had praised them. Sorry, you are the weakest link. Good bye. I am rethinking my contributions here.

Hoo accidentally deleted the entire thread. Johnny, there's no need for the hysterics about all this. All you needed to do is what people do all the time here when they make a mistake: simply post another message correcting the mistake. As I mentioned previously, we do not have the capability to edit posts (probably Hoo and Daddy could do it, but why should they take the time to do it?); we simply "unqueue" the posts or on rare occasion delete a duplicate post. We've been told to leave any questionable posts in the queue for Hoo to decide about them.

Moderators are here to keep things like libel and personal information from coming through from posters who don't have a good track record here. Most posters are now unmoderated. As long as the guidelines aren't violated, we let the posts pass on through; we don't make value judgements on the posts. That is our sole role here.

<<This seemed a perfectly legitimate request as they are editing our stuff all the time.>>

No, posts are not edited. You're probably confusing the message center with the reviews, which have been edited for spelling, etc. in the past, but I believe those are no longer being edited.

Johnny, you're welcome here, but there's no need to act like this, and the "alert" function should not have been used for something so trivial as this; that's supposed to be used to alert the moderators about violations of the guidelines (libel, etc.).

Hope this helps to let you know what's going on.

We DO NOT spell check. Never have. We do not make corrections. Never have. We do not delete idiotic posts. Unfortunately, never have.

We recommend that you use http://www.spellcheck.net.

Your thread was deleted because you asked me to and I alone was responsible. I deleted it because you were so unreasonable in your request. I did NOT read the thread before I deleted it. I had NO idea what it was about, nor did I care. But you, the author, demanded me to delete it, so I did.

If you make a mistake, do what everyone else here does and make your correction in a followup post.

Do NOT use the Alert feature to threaten and demean the moderators because of your own ineptitude.

Folks, I wish I had saved Johnny Sneakers message to us, for I would gladly post it to let you know how unreasonable he was in his ridiculous demands.

Sneak, if you want to restart your thread, be my guest. Please remember the moderators are not here to make grammatical corrections or tasteful adjustments.

If you have indeed made a monetary donation to this site, I will GLADLY refund it.

Johnny,

Unfortunately, you are assuming that moderators have the ability to "Allow you" to edit a message or that they can edit it themselves. This is incorrect.

Because of the design of the underlying software, a message can only be edited for a limited period of time. Once that period is up, only ONE person (Me!) has the technical ability to make the edit and it is a rather involved procedure.

The moderators can delete a reply to a message, or in the case where it's the first message can only delete the entire thread. THOSE ARE THE ONLY OPTIONS THAT THEY HAVE!

<S W A T >

This message alert you send out earlier (and was received by all six moderators and administrators) did not specify what needed to be changed. It did however show tons of attitude.

<S W A T > <S W A T>

I am not American Airlines nor am I Air Canada, and if you want something from Daddy, you best ask him politely or you risk being told to: “Take a flying, lip lock on the snot end of my sex stick.”

Johnny,

I saw your message, and it however somehow disappeared along the way, when I tried to unqueue it. It was nicely done and appreciated!

The easiest way to do it...Copy the message...Make the corrections...and post as a new reply...(A quick note that it's a correction helps too).

Usually that's enough for one of us to notice the duplicate and delete the previous one.

RE: Daddy has a point

Guys,

Just a reminder....and as I just have proved....Even Daddy can mess it up. I got a very nice message back and somehow managed to delete it before it could get up on the board.

Who's to blame? No one really, I've been up since 7am and only got about 4 hours sleep last night.

Please remember that ALL of the moderators/Admins here work 8+ hours a day for the most part, and while we do try REALLY HARD not to mess up, It does sometimes happen along the way

Johnny, with all due respect I think you're wrong. I think you do owe HooBoy an apology. You've made broad and sweeping assumptions that were not true (as explained by others on this thread) and went into a tizzy when we didn't do what you were absolutely certain was possible. You were wrong in your assumptions.

You made one grammatical error and pestered six people about changing ONE WORD in a post (and really, everyone got your meaning in the first place).

Take two breaths, and simmer down. You're looking for malice and consipiracy where there simply is none. It is your right to re-think your opinion of this board, but please do so based on FACT rather than ASSUMPTION.

If you have questions about how the board software works and what we can and cannot do (the cannot list is much longer than the can list), feel free to post them. We will glady answer. Wouldn't that be more useful than bitter histrionics?

RE: Damn

I did a lot of research on Daulton and responded to that thread.

All that effort evaporated into internet ether.

Dick

PS - The crux was that this guy charges US$125 just to make an appointment.

If I break the appointment up to 3 days before, I get back $62.50 and he keeps the other half (For what, I don't know. Maybe to teach me not to get sick or have an aunt die or have a conflict arise.)

If the cancellation is less than three days before the hour in paradise, he KEEPS the entire $125.00.

(This got me so incensed that I had to repost it. The nerve!)

RE: Damn

Dick, we all welcome your input, but it won't do much good on this thread.

Could you please start a new thread?

I could copy/paste for you but then everyone would yell about a moderator fiddling with the message content.

This is not a thread about Daulton. The only way to *have* a thread about Daulton is to make one. To date, nobody has been willing. Everyone just wants to yell about a screwup (which I've already yelled at HooBoy about elsewhere).

Put the news where it needs to be. Not in a thread about moderators' roles. OK?

RE: Damn

Thanks for reposting. I will not go into the sorry state of why you had to repost as it is too long and too petty. Just bad communications.

Thanks for the info on Daulton which is all I wanted. But I am confused, did you have to pay him in advance??? This is unheard of. And its contrary to all sensible escort/client laws, not that there are any!!!!

The guy's photos are really hot, and I would still like to know if he is for real or what???? The fact that he has been advertising for some time and there is not one review has me worried. Surely someone has experienced him?????
