what does the blue check mark mean?

i noticed that there are several reviews that have a blue check mark after the reviewers name. what does it mean? is it like the good housekeeping seal of approval? just wondering. robb

Haven't noticed a check mark. Do you mean the little icon that sort of looks like a head and torso? That mean's the person is a moderator. There should be one after my name.

I have a follow up question. Why are certain reviewer's who have the "established" seal no longer receiving that seal with their reviews?

The reviews are simply HTML pages. We're led to believe that HB does all of the editing of them. I hope he uses some kind of HTML editor, at least, to make his job easier but it certainly would be possible to do it all by hand.

 

Regardless, the checkmark is an image whose source is called check.gif. HB has to be putting it into the reviews on purpose or it wouldn't be there.

 

Consequently, he knows why he is doing it and will probably state what it means when he is ready to.

Basically it is a reminder for me. Most of the people with check-marks have been contacted by me. It's mainly a housekeeping thing for me and does not affect anyone here and should not be of concern to anyone. It's an internal thing.

It' a conspiracy I tell ya<g> First he starts with a blue check mark, sure seems inocent enough. But oh just wait, then it is a yellow check mark, and then a green one. Who knows, he may even try a smiley face(he is soo diabolical).

Thanks for the explanation, HooBoy. I/we couldn't tell if it was something like that or some new kind of credibility marker, especially after the rainbowboys thing and other recent controversies over fake reviews, since it hadn't appeared before.
