What is that bitter taste that sometimes is on a piece?

I recently was with a famous escort on this board. No names and I went down on my knees to provide much needed servicing and it tasted funky. There was no smell or anything but it tasted bitter. What was that? I did my job and kinda ignored it but yuck- not again and he is really hot too. I have never had this happen to me before. And yes I did see the sex and the city episode with Samantha and the funky spunk but my funky was before anyone came- it was right out the gate! What was that? blu

Maybe the guy was clamdigging prior to your date

(clamdigging = vaginal sex with a woman)

well, blu: several distasteful possibilities:

could have been vaginal taste, as joey mentioned

could have been smegna, popularly known as cock cheese (was he uncut?)

could have been discharge sometimes associated with venereal disease

i would suggest a washcloth next itme and a venereal checkup now

best and hope he was worth it

Or, maybe he was with another escort just before you. Does that equate to getting two for the price of one?:-)

If it were me, I'd go get tested at a gay-friendly clinic asap. Sounds like something was going on and I think I'd want to get tested for gonorrhea in the mouth and throat. Prior to HIV, this was pretty common.

But I'm not a doctor, so take this advice with a large grain of salt.

Smell like bread? woman or just a yeast infection, buy my impression is that u get a sore throat also. Otherwise, cock cheese, which again i think is yeast.

So, maybe the escort had asparagus for dinner?

More seriously, while I have sucked unprotected dick for many

years and am still HIV negative, I don't let anybody cum in

my mouth.

My dentist told me that of his 800 (mostly gay male) patients

3 sero-converted and all claimed only to have oral sex;

so, when it tastes bad, maybe it's a blessing in disguise to

tell you its time to stop sucking and start taking matters

in hand.

I'm not a prude; really, really, really, really ...

Well, one possibility is that he had been wearing a condom and had not washed after taking it off. When I've gone down on someone after he took off a rubber, I've definitely been able to taste the rubber. I find that taste bitter. It does go away rather quickly, however, if you keep sucking. You didn't say how long his cock had this bitter taste. If it was more than a minute or two, it probably wasn't left over condom taste.

I agree with the above advice: If a dick smells or tastes bad in the future, stop sucking! And getting an STD check is also probably a good idea.

I absolutely cannot suck a cock after a condom has been on it. The latex taste is disgusting. Either the cock has to be thoroughly washed, or I don't suck it any more.

Personally, I find the taste of mint flavored condoms preferable to any unshielded cock any more. I might suck unprotected cock were they not available, indeed, have been known to do so. But I find them so yummy that just last year I bought 100 on a real good internet sale, gave half to my lover, and we have been working our way through them ever since. (Your problem sounds like something in his precum to me, and I always hope to excite my friends so much that they do precum, so avoiding letting someone cum in your mouth doesn't sound like the answer.)

This may not be relevant here, but I just saw it posted by Buddycat on the Atkol forums and it seemed topical:

Gonorrhea on the Rise in Gay, Bisexual Men

By Amy Norton

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Amid concerns that complacency about HIV is bringing back the days of unsafe sex, two government studies show that gay and bisexual men are becoming increasingly vulnerable to two other sexually transmitted diseases.

Men who have sex with men are contracting gonorrhea more often and are becoming infected with hepatitis B, despite the existence of a vaccine that can prevent the liver infection, which is often transmitted through unprotected sex. The findings are published in two reports in the June issue of the American Journal of Public Health, the Journal of the American Public Health Association.

This upswing in gonorrhea cases is concerning both because it may signal a decline in safe-sex practices and because gonorrhea infection is linked to HIV.

In an interview with Reuters Health, Dr. Kimberly K. Fox explained that men with both gonorrhea and HIV are more likely to transmit HIV to others. And men and women with gonorrhea may be more vulnerable to contracting HIV due to inflammation in the genital area.

``This is very concerning, considering the HIV epidemic,'' she said.

The researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia, caution that these trends ''demand increased attention.''

In one study, Fox and her colleagues found that in 1999, gay and bisexual men accounted for three times as many gonorrhea cases in 29 STD clinics as they did just 7 years earlier. These findings extend trends seen in Seattle and San Francisco to more US cities, the researchers report.

In 1992, fewer than 5% of the clinics' gonorrhea cases were among gay and bisexual men, Fox's team found. By 1999, that figure had risen to more than 13%. In addition, these men became increasingly likely to have repeat gonorrhea infections and to have infections that were resistant to antibiotic treatment.

While Fox called the increase in gonorrhea cases among gay and bisexual men ``somewhat surprising,'' she also put it in context by noting the US has seen an overall rise in the STD since 1997. The current study, she said, could not pinpoint the reasons for the increase, but other CDC research aims to do so.

In the second study, which looked at hepatitis B vaccination rates among gay and bisexual teens and young men, Duncan A. MacKellar and his colleagues found that few had been vaccinated. Moreover, hepatitis B rates rose from 2% among 15-year-olds in the study to 17% among 22-year-olds.

Hepatitis B vaccination has been available in the US since 1982, and certain high-risk groups--including men who have sex with men--are advised to get vaccinated. Routine childhood immunization became the standard in 1991.

Hepatitis B attacks the liver, and if the infection becomes chronic it can permanently damage the organ and lead to liver cancer.

Despite the advice of experts, however, only 9% of the more than 3,400 young men in this study were vaccinated as of 1998--although nearly all had a regular healthcare provider.

``Healthcare providers should routinely identify and vaccinate or refer for vaccination persons at risk for hepatitis B infection,'' MacKellar and his colleagues write. They stress that the steep rise in infections between ages 15 and 22 seen in this study underscores the need for early vaccination among men who have sex with men.

Universal childhood vaccination, they note, ``will not eliminate the acute and chronic consequences of...infection for more than 20 years.''

By improving hepatitis B vaccination practices in general, they conclude, ``we can prevent many infections now.''

Yes, it does sound like the bitter aftertaste of condom-wear, but isn't it actually from the spermicide (naxo-whateveritis) some condoms are treated with, as opposed to the latex itself?

I can't stand it whether the condom has the spermicide or not. It's the latex aftertaste that I can't stand.

Sounds like when it tastes bad it's already too late to stop sucking... :-(

This is a good suggestion. Now let's see... if it had been with blu, he would have thought of this possibility himself. So this "famous escort on this board" must have been with someone else before blu and not washed. Or maybe he just routinely puts on a condom to go to the supermarket.

Yeah. I agree with that too.

I once asked a bitter-cocked guy that was all about, and he confided that he cleaned his cock with alcohol before and after sex "to kill any germs". He actually carried it around in his pocket in a little bottle. A bit much, if you ask me. But a definite potential cause of bitter cock syndrome.
