Then click on "created by AOL members" and then scroll down the list of chats on the right till you find an escort room.

A couple of other things o know:

 

Once you click on the tab to show the rooms created by members, there will be MANY rooms. You will eventually find more then one room titled EscortM4M. you will also find rooms like MiamiM4M or a room for the area you are in (again there will often be more than one of the rooms for your area and you just need to scroll down). they are not in any type of order so it is a hodge podge. Additionally, to see who is in the room you can just highlight the room and click on the "Who's Chatting" button. this will bring up a list of the names in that room. you can double click on the name to bring up thier profile which will give you info on them. You don't actually need to go in the room. Local escorts often hang out in the room for thier area.

 

Not that I would know any of this from first hand experience, just what I have heard ;-)

Many of the most popular rooms are full, and Jason is right that you can just hold down the enter key, and you will keep bouncing from "Go Chat" to the box saying the room is full, and back to try again automatically. Even then, you may have to wait quite a while. I do the same, but make it hands-free and automatic by placing a stapler on my desk so it presses down the Enter key on my number keypad. Turn up the speaker, and you can go wash trick towels or something else until you enter the room and the beeps stop.

By this he means, when you select the room you can't get into, press the "Who's Chatting" button. This gives you a list of who is in the room and you can then access their profiles. You will be surpised (or maybe not) how man of the screennames are just fronts for companies and not actual people/escorts.

Though I hate AOL and have been TOS-ED repeatedly (for my behavior on an opera message board -- don't ask)I have gotten back on, just to have a back-up ISP on a different machine than the one I use regularly. If you down load and pay for "Power Tools" it's generally easier to get into any room that's full. "Power Tools" keeps hitting the room, 'til you get in; also it seems as though "Power Tools" is rigged to be more responsive to the vagaries of AOL (the room really isn't "full" but whatever they're doing has put a limit on the members who can get in).

 

Realize that many professional escorts use "Power Tools" which can lock you into a room. When you IM one, you get a message such as "away from the PC now, on my knees -- praying -- send email". Those guys are ALWAYS there and they crowd the room making it much harder for those who want to link up asap. They may also not get back to you, even if you send an email.

 

You can hit "see who's chatting" button on any version of AOL and scroll down the names. Hitting one will bring up three options, one of which is profile, the other is send IM. So you don't have to be in the room to contact someone, assuming they are actually on line. Putting screen names you like on your "Buddy list" will tell you the name is on line but not whether they are at that moment. Everytime you read a profile you like, put the name on your buddy list and hit them first (you may catch them).

 

AOL escorts can be anybody; some are rip offs, many are not what their profiles claim or imply and probably a few are dangerous. Many are erratic. Still, some of the popular models here are on AOL and have a presence in the escorts rooms. And some hot non-pros looking for extra easy money also hit the rooms now and then. For a good one of those it's an adventure not a "profession" and they may be more spontaneous than your average pro.

 

Good idea to be careful. Never post your address in a casual IM or home phone (call them if you are really interested and their IMs seem legit; they will have a read out more than likely. Also check here for their screen name in the reviews).

 

Be aware that Vice does hit those rooms too, mainly to read profiles. If your profile (you'll need one to be taken seriously by an escort) suggests you like twinks you will very likely sooner or later get an IM from a "16" year old, really into your "scene" and available. ALWAYS say you are looking for 18 and up, preferably 20 and up. NEVER accept an offer of a picture from someone claiming to be under age (age of consent laws, and the age where being offered money for sex is a lesser charge for both people are different with vastly different penalties. Possessing "sexual" pictures of under age people is itself a crime). NEVER offer to send a sexually graphic picture of yourself alone or in action with someone (sending "porn" over the 'Net is a crime).

 

As always, be aware that "entrapment" NEVER works as a defense; is a typical tactic and they are clever enough to fool smart people. NO ONE has to admit to being a cop, even if you ask them, for their testimony to be allowable in court.

 

Your profile should be carefully worded. You want to give a sense that you pay, what you're looking for and where you are (in a general way) but if it's too explicit AOL will delete that screen name and possibly throw you off.

You can also create your own room. Crazy as that may sound, it can be a very effective technique.

 

Not long ago, I was looking for an escort in LA; the guys I would normally call all happened to be busy at the same time. The LA escorts generally frequent either the escortm4m or escortsm4m room or else they are in one of the LA rooms. (By the way, it's easy to find rooms whose name fit a pattern: when you have the list of rooms displayed, type Ctrl-F to display a search window. Enter a word -- something like escort or angeles -- and press enter. Be sure the list of rooms is the current window and if necessary click on one of the room names before doing the search.)

 

Anyway, all those rooms were full and I didn't have the patience to hold down the Enter key for a while. So I started my own chat. I pressed 'start your own chat' and then chose to create a member chat. I created it in the Town Square -- which is where most of the escorts are -- and called it EscortM4M LA. In less than 15 minutes, there were about 10 other guys in the room, include a couple of escorts.

 

So go crazy and create your own rooms. You never know who will show up.

Matt, read a few opera libretti or synopses and you'll see what sort of bizarre behavior can be found there. Also look for accounts of some of the things that have happened at opera performances, for example, when fans of rival singers clashed with each other.
