Tops Referrals?

Has anyone had any experience with this referral service? I took a look at their web page based on a link from one of today's reviews. It's unlike anything I've ever seen-- I wonder how true it is... the owner seems to be incredibly professional-- he even offers a social worker and a health plan for his escorts! He's a modern-day Miss Mona!

The problem I have with their website is the need to join yet another incompatible AVS just to see any photos at all. I think that really sucks. They need not show faces if that's a problem for them.

 

I have used them on a couple of occasions and personally found that the guys I met were not all that great. Not exactly as described and in a hurry to get it over with. But it's been a few years for me, so maybe they've gotten better. I prefer the agencies like Capital City Boys and Elite Escorts DC. Very cute boys, Capital City caters mainly to twink lovers. Elite has a few more beefy guys, but is a little more expensive.

I agree...

 

I don't know if their business is escorts or AVS subscriptions -- the latter it seems to me. As far as I'm concerned they are just shooting themselves in the foot. I've checked the sight out a few times over the last year and always move on elsewhere when I see that they still have the AVS bullshit.

Well, I wasn't really referring to the stuff behind the adult verification wall-- although I wouldn't have minded seeing the photos. But there's plenty of stuff on there that's interesting-- purely from a business standpoint.

I, too, am upset with websites requiring ONE AVS. Why should I have to pay to view their escorts?

 

I sent Tops the following email:

 

After my first visit to your site I was frustrated by being blocked from the escort pix.

If your concern really is limiting access to your pix, why not accept other AVS ID's?

I subscribe to Age Check, Adult Check, ManCheck, and UGAS.

I certainly am not going to subscribe to another AVS just to get access to your page. As an escort user, I could bring you service but you have locked me out.

I sent them a similar e-mail once upon a time and they claimed that their ISP required them to use that silly DirectPassport thing that they use. I didn't believe it quite frankly.

I have a lot of respect for Tops, but I agree the non compatible AVS really doesnt make any sense.

 

I have tested a number of AVS systems to see which is most effective (not in making money, but attracting the best clients). My favorite is AdultCheck. Quite frankly having an AVS should have very little to do with making money, but quite a bit to do with a few other considerations.

 

Of course, the alternative theory is to just give it away.
