Is there any kind of a national organization of escorts? This article mentions one for female escorts in New Zealand, which evidently was rather pivotal in getting this legislation to be considered seiously.

Good question! The article does imply that there's some sort of an organization that lobbied for the legislation. I came across the newspaper's web site while helping a friend's daughter do some research for a term paper on New Zealand. I read the article and decided to post it here. Maybe someone who posts from Australia or New Zealand will have some insight as to the history of this legislation. (I know that certain forms of prostitution are legal in Australia.)
