LAST EDITED ON Apr-27-01 AT 08:52AM (EST)[p]I have to go to the Dulles area in a few weeks for a meeting. I have no idea how close it is in realtion to DV/Baltimore etc. Any tips on any must see strip clubs and/or escorts?

Also, I will be staying an extra night at my own expense. Can anyone reccomend a decent inexpensive hotel in the area (or what passes for inexpensive in the area).

Thanks!

The airport is 30 miles west of DC, no public transit into town. Taxi is $25-$30, shuttle van is $20 each way.

In DC, strip clubs are Le Cage, Secrets (half a block down street from Le Cage), and Wet (about four blocks away and probably the best.)

Hotels fill this time of year and don't give many discounts, but Howard Johnson at 1430 Rhode Island has a nice location and good prices and you can usually find a room. Not far from Dupont Circle and lots of good restaurants, book stores, shops of all kinds, and heart of gay area.

Have fun. DC is a great city and area.

A couple of years ago, I stayed at a Sheraton which was located quite close to Dulles. The bad news is that there's no public transportation in the area and a taxi into DC was kind of expensive. The good news is that you can save money by having the cab drop you off at the first metro stop in Virginia.

And as for escorts, there are actually some that are out in the NoVA suburbs. You can check the Washington Blade for escort ads (online at http://www.washblade.com click on "Encounters" in the pull down menu and then go to escorts). The various online agencies may be able to help you too, although most of their boys are located in town and many do not have cars. Capital City Boys specializes in twinkish young guys for the most part (http://www.capitalcityboys.com). Their site is also linked to the AgencyDC's site (they're run by the same guy) which has some of the same guys listed. There's a new agency called EliteEscorts DC (http://www.eliteescortsdc.com) that has more muscular guys. They are a fair bit more expensive though, and also have a surcharge for travel outside the beltway, but if you are making an evening of it they waive the surcharge. The boy I met from that agency last week called "Dean" was perfect for me, but it depends on the kind of guy you are looking for. The other big agency in town is called Tops (http://www.tops69.com), but in order to view the photos of their escorts you have to buy an AVS thing that is not compatible with any other sites, so it's pretty much a ripoff IMHO. The couple of guys I have used from their agency in the past didn't really measure up. But if you are into SM type things it is probably the best choice.

I think I know way too much about the local escort scene. :-)

Dulles is basically a growing suburb full of office building and lots of houses, but not too much else. If you have any way to stay in DC or the close-in suburbs like Arlington, do it! Besides the big hotels, there are many smaller inns and hotels in the DuPont Circle area that are probably not as heavily booked as the major hotels. It's a beautiful time to be visiting the area.

Thanks everyone for the great information. I am actually flying in a day early so the first day I am staying on my own in DC for some fun. Then after that unfortunately I have to stay where they are putting me in Dulles and won't even have nights free.

Do any of the bars mentioned (like Wet) have web sites?

Thanks Again!

I don't think Wet has a website anymore. Lacage does, or at least did. They recently reopened after being closed for a while for renovations. try http://www.lacage.com That whole part of town is pretty sketchy, but Wet is actually right across the street from a big dance club so I think it's a bit safer location than the other bars which are down on O St.

The Dulles area of VA is known as the Silicon Valley of the East. It has become a major business area for many of Internet and software manufacturers - AOL, Oracle, PSINet, etc.,.

Consequently, the area is riddled with hotels spanning quite a range from Super 8 to the Hyatt to Extended Stay America. I've been told prices tend to be somewhat high compared to the national average, even for low end hotels, due to the high traffic of business travelers. Weekends tend to be less expensive.

As for DC, you're coming off the cherry blossom season and Congress is in session, so prices will most likely be at peak range. You'll of course want to stay in the Northwest section near Dupont Circle (aka The Fruit Loop:-))

Some hotels I can recommend in DC are The Governors House, Carlisle Suites on New Hampshire, Embassy Suites on 22nd and the Washington Plaza. All three are a few blocks from Dupont Circle, high end of average as far as rooms go and can be reasonable even during peak season as far as rates.

Other good hotels in DC are the JW Marriott on 14th Street near the White House, Embassy Suites in Georgetown, a very historic area with good shopping, and the Key Bridge Marriott, just over the Potomac in VA close to Georgetown.

And if you don't mind staying outside the city and splurging a little, there is the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner. It is has direct access to one of the two shopping malls in Tysons Corner which boasts stores like Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Hugo Boss, Tiffanys, etc. It is also located near a Metro station for easy access to DC.

You can check out [link:www.dcaccommodations.com|http://www.dcaccommodations.com]. It's a very informative site with maps, room information and internet specials that you can't get from the hotels themselves.

Fedssocr pretty much covered the Escort Agency scene in DC, which I know little about. If you're looking for an indie, I hear there is this great blond top who lives just 15 minutes from Dulles airport. He's hot, well-endowed, great personality...OK. Enough of the shameless self-promotion.

Seriously, check out my site [link:www.andreasmikeals.com|http://www.andreasmikeals.com]. If I am somebody you feel you'd like to meet feel free to contact me. I may even be able to arrange transportation from the airport since I live so close depending on your arrival time. And if I'm not your type, I may be able to reccommend somebody who is.

Ahhh...shucks <Andreas blushes:-)>

Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad you like my site. I am a web site designer in my other life, which is why I'm out here near Dulles, dot com land.

I have to admit, your name reminds me of an 80's band named Loverboy from Canada. They didn't do much that was very memorable (except maybe 'Working for the Weekend') but the lead singer sure did look good in spandex pants:-P

What about you loverboy? Any spandex in your wardrobe?:-)

It shows. That makes two reasons to hire you.

Oh, yeah, and I liked the website too, in case you couldn't tell from the previous line. ;-)

>Ummm... there's no Metrorail station anywhere

>near Tysons Corner.

Ummm...the Ritz Carlton in Tysons is near the Dunn Loring Metro Station. Let's not confuse "near" to mean "walking distance." It's a short jaunt in a taxi, 5 - 10 minutes.

However, you are correct about the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City. It is much more convenient to the Metro. I tend to forget about that one since I am closer to Tysons.

I have to admit, loverboy is not my real name, and I am not an 80's band. I was only trying to confuse you. ;-)

I'm more into admiring spandex than wearing it.
