THE TERMS "TOP","BOTTOM","VERSATILE"...definitions

Whenever you read an escort's "resume" or reviews, the terms "top","bottom", or "versatile" will usually appear. I always assume that these terms refer to anal activities and as such are self explanatory. However, what are the terms that refer to "oral" activities? When searching for an escort that will perform oral (he will suck) what does one look for? Does "bottom","top", "versatile" apply here? Is an escort who does suck considered a bottom or a top? Are there other terms used? I assume that someone versatile does both.

In keeping with the above, are there any escorts who admit to being under 6"? I sometimes feel that their claims of endowment are greatly exagerated. We read 8", 9" etc and no way do they even come close. You know that experts agree that the "average" male endowment (dick size for the uninformed" is 5.5".

IMHO the terms refer to oral as well. Top is someone who receives oral, bottom is someone who will give oral, and versatile is happy to do/have both. As far as size goes, well, I really don't care what size it comes in just as long as it works. If you look on another sites forum they discuss muscle guys with little endowments and what a turn on that is, it even describes the shooting capability of above avg vs. avg to below.

So according to this data, there is about a 6% probability of any one man having a penis size of 7.5 inches or more. So the odds of an escort being hung over that are STATISTICALLY not good. On the other hand, if we added up the collective experience of all of the escort clients who post on this site, between us we have probably already beaten these odds many times over!!

 

It would be interesting if one of these size surveys distinguished between gay and straight men, but I could not find one that did.

Now, I've heard the opposite used. An oral top is the active one (doing the sucking) and an oral bottom is the passive one (receiving the sucking).

I generally assume that any escort will give and receive oral unless otherwise noted and that terms like top and bottom are pretty much reserved for anal activity.

 

As for size, I think a lot of it has to do with how you do the measuring and I'm not sure there's any one uniform standard for that. :-)

Can't resist commenting on this, since part of my job involves designing surveys...

 

An article recently-- think it was in the Advocate, but can't remember for sure-- noted that one of the big problems with the "size surveys" was that nearly ALL of them (including Kinsey's) were what are called, "self reporting". For the layperson, that means the surveyor asks the respondent, "How big are you?"

 

One of my favorite stand-up comics does a routine where he holds his fingers two inches apart, and says "gay men have no sense of proportion. Most of them think this is 9 inches."

 

The one most reliable survey reports that probably the real median, i.e. 50th percentile, length is about 5.5"-- maybe a tad less-- for U.S. men. My guess is, too, we all vary quite a bit depending on how excited we are by a partner.

Now that we've got all of the statistics, realize that those #'s are of everyday people, a 'random' sample. We are not dealing with random sample when we are talking 'escorts' or sex workers in general. In all likelyhood, the average length of the male sex workers penis is above average, there is a reason we are in this business: )
