Clearly I offended some of those who were kind enough to your time, thoughts and honesty to my question.

 

I'm sorry about my most recent post. I have a thin skin, and I have been warned that it is not an asset in this business. My sense of humor (dark and sometimes a little 'off') hasn't helped matters either. I am also on the outspoken side when it comes to issues that I feel passionately about. Please forgive me.

 

This is very big issue for me, and I have a difficult choice to make. While its true that I do an OK business, good enough is never good enough for me.. and if I am to reach out to clients who need to see more before they make hiring decision, then I may have to make some changes. I am stressed about it. This whole message post series has gone in a completely different direction than I thought it would. I got a lot of information that I was totally unprepared to see and I did not handle it very well.

 

Make no mistake.. I really appreciate your input.. all of it.

 

Also, I had some of my facts wrong about 'cookies' as well. Thank you for your information and clarity. <red faced> I learned my new thing for the day.

 

Also, just for the record, I would never create a site that would attempt to gather information on visitors. My last post was an attempt to illustrate how I felt about the situation by attempting to paint a picture where the show is on the other foot. Not a good idea on my part.

 

So now you all know my secret.. while I can be perfect while on the clock for an hour at a time, the reality is that I am a human. I used poor judgement in choosing to speak my mind / vent in this forum.

 

In the meantime, my modest webpage will remain unchanged while I consider the available options.

Yes and no. Cookies are indeed useful for legit authentication purposes, this very message board being a good example.

 

Those of us that've been around long enough to remember the

days of the respectable academic Internet might feel different. IMHO, the overall profiling of net users for commercial exploitation has gone beyond all sensible boundaries.

 

Places like http://www.junkbusters.com give clues.

I have never made a secret of the fact that I do not have a mental handle on my own computer yet, let alone the entire web. However, I have noticed that many of the escorts implant their website address into their picture. Evidently they can do so in ways that make it where it cannot be effectively eliminated when swiping the pic and planting it somewhere else. So, if you do decide to lose some privacy here, perhaps you could make the pirates work for you by spreading your address?

I think you are refering to Watermarking. A process that can now be easily accomplished with most of the major web oriented graphics packages, such as, PaintShop Pro. You can also stick information (copyright etc) into the picture that can then be viewed in a graphics application.

Our opinion on the subject is that tasteful x pics should be accessible to all, while pics showing sex or something more hardcore should be protected behind an AVS. On our recent trip to DC we had 100's of sex photos made of us and some hottie friends of ours. We are going to make these accessible through an AVS on our website. Our solo x pics, though, will still be accessible without the AVS.
