I am planning a trip to Europe and was wondering what the policy and procedure is on escorts as travel companions. I plan a 10-day or more trip to Italy to investigate my roots and would love to have a young, educated companion to share the experience. What are the fair rates for such an arrangement? This will be my first time with an escort for an extended period of time. Do most escorts still have a daily rate for such a trip? Obviously, I would expect to pick up all of the expenses but I was wondering about the rate for the escort's time. Does anyone have any experiences they are willing to share?

Usually the longer the trip the lower the rate on a per diem basis, but this seems to be a definite area for negotiating. If 1200/day, maybe 1000/day for 3-5, down to 800 for longer? If someone really wants to go to the particular place they may be willing to discount deeper. On the other hand the top escorts are almost always booked on a daily basis at home and need to maintain parity in income. I would also urge a really really thorough compatability check before a 10 day commitment. I have never done a 10 day trip myself, so can't be more specific.

It varies with the escort. I have found some top escorts who quoted me 400.00 - 500.00 per day if they wanted to go. Check around.

I have accompanied a few men overseas. I generally go about half my normal rate for a 2-4 day trip, but for a trip that long I would probably put it at about 30 pct of my normal rate, plus expenses.

Personally, I usually don't discount, for one reason, I'm almost always booked in advance, and therefore my income earning potential is usually secured. (sound like a bloody banker: )

That said...if it were a regular client of mine, and I knew that we could handle each other for 10 days, I would definately consider a reduced rate, but my normal rate is considerably lower than the 'elite' escorts out there charge/overnight. Which brings us back to why I don't discount: )

My suggestion is you see a guy several times, for shorter durations than 10 days, before you commit to spending that amount of time with him. Nothing would be worse than bringing a guy along, that after two days you want to dump into a canal in Venice. Sure you may have thought he had a body to rival that of 'David', but after a few days you might want to leave him in Florence and bring the marble version along as a more intellectually stimulating companion: )
