I wanted to post a response but I also wanted to honor my commitment to NYCMuscBoy to discontinue the hijacking of his thread, so the "raison d’etre" of this post.

It is ODD… but then again NOT if you know the history in my view, it has as much to do with who it is as what he did.

 

Sean has acquired a lengthy list of bashers, many of whom he must accept considerable responsibility for cultivating, my view. And they have hounded him long before this episode arose.

 

Also, there is no doubt in my mind that Sean breached a fundamental confidence between client and escort, an unacceptable breach. But in my view, while his practice is alarming and has potential calamitous implications, I believe he had no ill intent in the practice. This doesn’t make it acceptable or even benign in my mind.

 

Contrast this with other escorts who have been reported as repeated rip-off offenders (eg. Nick formerly of Atlanta, now of Orlando to name one, many others have been reported). These people are deliberately preying on us escorts and are far more destructive on a day-to-day basis than Sean ever was. Yet where is the unbridled outrage here – I haven’t seen the dogs unleashed and runners sent to the woods to drive the prey into the headlights…almost on a regular basis. No, the process was followed that when someone discovered he had relocated to Orlando with a name change the community was notified, with some minor discussion, but not pandemonium. Again, my view – it has to do much more with who it is.

 

I do not condone Sean’s practice, and it is the mission of the site to review practicing escorts under any name that they escort under. I expect that any clients who encounter Sean under his name or others will file a review (and a message to that effect before the review is posted) – I do believe that clients should be aware of whom they are dealing with and their practices, be it Sean or Adam/Country Boy-City Heat, or anyone else engaging in questionable practices or worse.

 

I do not condone sending the dogs out to scour the countryside and efforts continually to whip the community into a frenzy – usually by rehashing previously chewed fat to ad nauseam. The purpose of the site is to inform not to crucify -- be it Sean, Adam/Countryboy, Nick or whoever.

I am appreciative to the individual who thought this post sufficiently important to give it a rating. I think it likely to be only one at the time of this posting -- there were none late last night. If I knew his identity I would thank him personally; too bad our Identities aren’t recorded for such contributions. I, for one, would welcome it and I would welcome the posting of the IP address along with the identity when posting -- just adds a measure of clarity to the dialog. I do appreciate that many members covet their privacy at M4M ER, some more than others.

I agree with you, Yankee, but I think the problem is that most of the big rip-off escorts wouldn't deign to even click on this board. They're happy to rip off clients instead. Sean's behavior is a bit, um, provocative at times, and I think that's why he gets the vitriol he sometimes does.

The good thing is that we don't need their active participation on the boards for this site to work. If the clients file the reviews, these guys will eventually begin to wonder why the business dried up. That's probably when they change their name and move on to another city.

In case that link doesn't work, I'm referring to the extraordinary flurry of posts (over 160 since Wednesday!) on Ace Bannon's MuscleService Logbook concerning the notorious BILLY HERRINGTON. Begun by an out-of-nowhere paean of praise from Billy's equally notorious 'representative,' David Forrest, it exploded into a vigorous exchange of attacks from old (but still angry) clients & Billy himself, with side comments from a few Billy supporters.

 

The bottom line is that Billy, now in NYC & trying to drum up business, has found that the denunciations he has brought down on himself over the past year have finally begun to affect his income: i.e. nobody's calling, nobody's writing. The poor guy is so desperate for the moola that he's actually weighing the idea of getting topped in an upcoming video.

 

So, you see, it IS true that posting enough info on a guy's performance as an escort has a definite effect on his career, and can produce some amazing turn-arounds--even with a bigtime porn star. (And, on a lesser level, look at Kirk's recent 'rehab' saga right here at Hooboy's. It may not yet have improved business, but it seems to have led to his pic being featured in the current reviews.)

 

Still, something tells me that Sean is literally beyond redemption, & mostly because he continues to be his own worst enemy.

Thanks for the referenced URL... interesting to read the 'chickens coming home to roost'. Some of these rip-off guys will learn that they can and will be held accountable now that the internet gives clients a way to network as never before. Some won't -- just beyond their capacity to make the connection, or they have the arrogance to think that they can 'dodge the silver bullet'.

 

As for your final point... a serving of humble pie now and then is good for the soul. It's best to help ourselves to small servings occasionally than not to and eventually get a full pie in the face.
