As you've just joined our forum, I don't want to put you on the spot. However, now that you're here, I'd like to ask you a couple of questions that have been on my mind for a long time. Answer them if you like, don't answer them if you don't like!

 

First, I remember a great Colt model named Rothmeier from the seventies, I think. Did you choose your name to emulate him? If so, you're in great, great company, as the recent re-release of his scenes from "Muscle Beach" amply testify.

 

Second (and perhaps more complicated), I have always wondered how a "dominant stud top" or whatever becomes that way. I mean, did you discover in your personal life that wearing leather and being a dominant top turned you on and thus you continued in that vein professionally? Or did your body/personality type suggest that escorting with that particular persona was more likely to get you business? Does it turn you on simply to be dominant, or does it depend on the situation?

 

I realize that this is quite a tall order for somebody who's just signed on. As I said, I really am curious about this, and so I decided to ask you when I saw your name and it was on my mind.

I'm glad that Reece Rothmeier hasn't seen or responded to my questions yet, because I have to withdraw the first one. Yesterday I came across the Colt tape in question, and see that I mistook the name. It's Rick Wolfmeier (with Mike Betts), not Rothmeier.

 

Some day I will learn not to trust my trustworthily unreliable memory. Meanwhile, I apologize to the, apparently, one and only Mr. Rothmeier.

It’s what you don’t say that keeps them guessing <g>, but since you ask Will, I’ll be happy to reply to your questions and resolve your curiosity. First the name, Rothmeier. Although I get ask if it has Jewish origins, it actually does not. I found it being mentioned in the family history books, so I decided to dust it off and claim it as my own. I always liked the unique qualities of it and keeping it distinctive. Although I have to say it doesn’t make the best domain name for a web site.

 

Second the dominant top issue, which is really a three-part response. I discovered when I began exploring the leather scene 10 years ago that being a top suited my character. I enjoy making a good connection with guys I meet and getting inside their head to give them what they really need or desired. Sometimes reading them better than they know themselves. Stimulate the brain, and you’ve stimulated the largest organ in the body. So, discovering the intuitive, dominant top persona came effortlessly. Not to say I didn’t have any good training as a bottom. I’ve had experiences along the way, which only add to my credit. To be a good top, you first must master being a good bottom…Grasshopper. I always have to add to this by saying there is an inherit German gene that allows me to explore the leather and fetish scene quite naturally. I’m not a leather man by choice; I’m made that way <eg>. I am adding my two-cents worth because this is one of the best explanations I have seen and Reece has probably done it in almost as verbose a fashion as I could possibly ever manage to. My sainted great grand aunt Angelina, in conversation with her parish priest in Palermo, used to put it this way: "Father, why are some men born tops and others simple aspire to be tops?" I did have the pleasure of spending an hour with Reece many, many years ago. Unfortunately he retired before I got a chance to see him again. He was( and I hope still is) a special man.
