LAST EDITED ON Oct-16-00 AT 09:44AM (EST)[p]Sean, you will note that I carefully framed my post as questions. I knew that I did not know, and I don't need law schoold to tell me that I do not know. Nor you to get defensive rather than answering my questions.

And please note that the following are also QUESTIONS

How can you claim that your business reputation has been hurt if you are booked through December?

How can you claim that your personal reputation has been hurt if we are only discussing your business name?

How can you claim that your other businesses have been hurt since you have been careful to not let us know what they are?

I am trying to approach this with an open mind. If you want to be taken seriously, please start seriously answering my questions.

And, in answer to one of your questions, how am I involved in this dealing between you and HooBoy? Well, you answered that one yourself. If, as you have said, a similar suit closed the ATKOL forums, it is possible, or you seem to want to imply it is possible, that your suit might close down this site. And I truely enjoy and benefit from this site. (And, yes, I have donated money to its upkeep and urge others to do the same.)

I'm assuming that Sean's hosting of a chat on May 12, 2000 and the various statements he made at that time (it's a funny read!)are not going to help him too much either.

A View from a Jersey Landfill

LAST EDITED ON Oct-16-00 AT 02:45 PM (EST)

I leave town for the weekend… on my return I find pieces of the sky littering the landscape -- looking much like a Jersey landfill. So much energy expended by so many on so little of real consequence, except for Sean where the consequence is real, and for HooBoy where there is consequence, if for nothing more than extreme aggravation, oh yes, and attorney’s fees…which I’m sure all of us observers will be willing to help HooBoy cover? (That is in addition to the help needed just to keep the site up and running under normal circumstances.)

So much for beating the dead horse, it was fun while it lasted for some it would seem; and maybe some will find entertainment in this final(?) flourish… I did not and do not. The phoenix has risen from the bloody pulpy mass in an attempt to break his bonds and escape from his never-to-be-sated tormentors. Well, I really can’t blame him, one can only take poking with a stick for so long until action has to be taken… or death ensues, regardless of whether one brings it on himself or not –- and there were plenty of antagonists ready and willing to play this scene. The die appears to be cast and the train is leaving the station on its final run to who knows where, but one thing I know is that its destination will not be good for Sean, nor for Hooboy, nor for anyone else, save those who are drawn like magnets to the scene of accidents to view the spilled blood and mangled bodies of the unfortunate participants (a human trait with which I’ve never been comfortable).

If it seems that I don’t have much taste for this particular tragedy bordering on black comedy then I am making my point. Nevertheless, we are where we are in this sad state of affairs – it is not going away.

HooBoy,

No good deed goes unpunished for long – your mistake was to play the good Samaritan, universally loathed by everyone without a charitable heart, even by those you seek to help. Your motives are impugned and your actions misinterpreted, and if your act fails to achieve success you are held to blame for the failure and all that preceded it. Hoo, this is your fault on exhibit in this sad episode, a fault that I see as a high virtue, one that I wish more people shared, but then where is the wisdom in that, given how is episode has unfolded for you.

Dandday,

I appreciate your attempt to start a thread of support for HooBoy: Lord knows that given the incessant abuse he takes from the many sides, he is due messages of moral support from time to time just to let him know that there are more of us who appreciate his efforts than there are disgruntled, self-centered, confused and misguided detractors (Zeus, Jack of Nashville...) that seem to think that HooBoy’s mission is to cater to their individual whims and needs or to act in accordance with their world view of the moment, all instantly -- and his failure to cave just reinforces their self delusional attitudes further with attendant additional grief dispensed.

Regulation,

I think your comments in post #8 particularly are right on the mark and your follow up comments seem to make good sense to me as well. I would urge Sean to calm down and reflect on your comments and others before proceeding further.

Sean,

I urge to you take a step back, calm down and think through your current position, where you want to go and the best way to get there. My judgment is that your long term interest concerns your reputation as a reliable escort and the attending successful business, not as a litigious nightmare who can bring disagreeing people to their knees on threats. (Threats don’t work on everyone and forcing oneself to pursue an untenable position, having issued the threat publicly can backfire and lead to further unpleasant consequences even if just financial.) I think that Bilbo poses several thoughtful questions for you to reflect on and urge that you calm down and take the time to do so.

It seems to me at the moment that you are primarily being driven by a need to lash out and this is not in your best interest regarding the achievement of long term goals. Many of the comments on this thread are deadly accurate in my view that your are acting as your own worst enemy, and Lord knows you have enough detractors willing to provide you grief, you don’t need to make your own. Not everyone is your enemy who offers this advice – I am not referring to me.

Jasen Rhodes,

Thanks, Jasen for the wonderful weekend you provided and the complete and total distraction from this fiasco. Great Eggs Benedict!

Sean:

I do not know you other than what you've posted here over time. Unlike so many people here, I don't think you're a bad guy--but have you considered which is more important to you--your ego or your business? If it's your ego, carry on by all means. If it's your business, it's time to say goodbye to this site. You're the one that's hurting your own reputation and you'd be well advised to kick the habit and explore something more rewarding than M4M--for you personally as well as for your business. You can't win them all, just make sure you don't lose it all. Get over it and make a new start. I'm sure you're good, I suspect you'll be successful. And all you need to do is do it.

RE: A View from a Jersey Landfill

AAAH! That suprised me! *blush*

The rest I'll say to you personally. :)

I will comment, though, that I don't read the message board stuff very often, but today I have been glued to my screen catching up. This is all quite fascinating, huh?
